Here's a 30-60-90 plan scaled to the Senior level — since this role carries training and strategic responsibilities beyond a standard Lifecycle Manager, I built in that leadership arc alongside the standard ramp-up.

First 30 Days: Learn & Observe

  • Complete onboarding and become fluent in Hawke's lifecycle processes, tools, quality standards, and CRM data structures across assigned accounts.
  • Build relationships with clients and cross-functional partners (Paid Media, Strategy, Creative, Content) while shadowing meetings and campaign execution.
  • Learn each assigned client's business, goals, lifecycle strategy, KPIs, current automations, and CRM/segmentation setup.
  • Begin contributing to campaign builds, QA, reporting, and client communication with guidance.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in Hawke's preferred ESPs and relevant CRM platforms.
  • Observe team training sessions and internal processes to understand where you'll eventually contribute as a resource for the broader team.

Days 31-60: Execute with Support

  • Begin independently managing day-to-day execution across assigned client accounts while receiving coaching.
  • Own campaign launches, QA, reporting, and routine client communication.
  • Identify optimization opportunities, including CRM data hygiene, segmentation refinement, and journey mapping, and contribute recommendations to improve client performance.
  • Build confidence presenting campaign results and participating in client meetings.
  • Start contributing to team-level knowledge sharing (e.g., a best-practice tip or a process suggestion) to establish your presence as an emerging resource.
  • Consistently deliver work on time while maintaining quality and attention to detail.

Days 61-90: Own the Client Engagement & Team Impact

  • Independently manage a client roster, serving as the primary point of contact for assigned clients.
  • Own campaign strategy, execution, reporting, and client communication with minimal oversight, including CRM-driven segmentation and lifecycle automation strategy.
  • Develop proactive recommendations and testing ideas that support client goals.
  • Effectively collaborate with Strategy, Creative, Paid Media, and Content teams to deliver integrated lifecycle programs.
  • Begin acting as a resource for the wider email/lifecycle team, contributing to training materials, and weighing in on team strategy discussions.
  • Consistently meet Hawke's expectations for client satisfaction, execution quality, account ownership, and team-level contribution appropriate to the Senior title.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
