Location: Pasadena, CA HQ or Remote within USA

Please note: This position will work directly on projects related to the Department of Defense. You must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship with the ability to obtain a security clearance, which is issued by the U.S. government. U.S. citizenship is required by the DoD for security clearance.

The Role

Our fast-growing team is looking for a skilled, motivated, and reliable Contracts Manager to join our Federal business unit. This role will manage the administration of multiple complex contracts within the Federal Government Contracting arena including the preparation and delivering of contractual communication, proposal preparation, supporting negotiations, and administration of other agreements. 

Responsibilities

  • Performs proposal preparation, contract negotiation, contract administration, and customer contact activities to provide for proper contract acquisition and execution in accordance with company policies, legal requirements, and customer specifications.
  • Administers contracts and agreements in accordance with federal government regulations and company policies and procedures, manages and negotiates customer changes to such agreements.
  • Prepares proposals, bids, progress, and other reports as required.
  • Examines terms of solicitations, requirements, and delivery schedules to provide written reviews to management identifying and mitigating risks to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Actively participate in new business pursuit activity requiring a sound knowledge of competitive and sole source proposal preparation processes.
  • Advises pursuit team, program team, and management of contractual rights and obligations of the pursuits and programs for which you are responsible.
  • Proactively identifies pursuit, program and company risks and provides recommended mitigations.
  • Effective communicator within program multi-functional teams, contracts professionals, internal management, and all levels of customer counterparts.
  • Compiles and analyzes data and maintains historical information.

Qualifications

  • This position will work directly on projects related to the Department of Defense. You must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship with the ability to obtain a security clearance, which is issued by the U.S. government. U.S. citizenship is required by the DoD for security clearance.
  • At least 3 years of experience managing proposal preparation and contract negotiations from inception to completion
  • Experience within the federal sector, including the Department of Defense, Intelligence Community, and other federal civilian agencies and familiarity with the solicitation and proposal/capture process 
  • Experience and sound working knowledge of U.S. government procurement regulations (FAR / DFAR / FAA AMS, etc.)
  • Knowledge of the SBIR process
  • Ability to interpret contractual requirements and provide guidance to program personnel and management.
  • Experience thinking outside the box and chasing opportunities, preferably in fast-paced, technology-driven environments
  • Strong business development leadership skills and a track record in building and scaling strategies that deliver results 
  • Ability to establish clear value propositions via excellent communication skills in these forms: customer conversations, company and product presentations, written communications such as email and proposals
  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree a plus
