Primary Responsibilities
Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP offers an outstanding opportunity for the right candidate to gain practical, hands-on legal experience at a leading global law firm—working closely with renowned multinational clients and tackling sophisticated intellectual property matters.
Assisting attorneys with global trademark and copyright portfolio management;
Preparing and managing U.S. and foreign trademark prosecution filings;
Assisting attorneys with U.S. and foreign trademark oppositions, cancellations and other disputes, including managing deadlines and preparing and coordinating evidence and client communications;
Maintaining a large and complex docket of domestic and international trademarks and domain names, as well as U.S. copyrights, including management and oversight of the docketing database;
Maintaining client-facing extranets;
Preparing trademark, copyright and domain name status reports for attorneys and clients;
Corresponding directly with clients, the USPTO and foreign counsel on a daily basis regarding status, deadlines and outstanding issues.
QualificationsPrevious law firm experience is a plus. BA/BS degree.
The position requires excellent organization, precise attention to detail, and demonstrated success in multitasking.
The ideal candidate can learn quickly and work independently and efficiently on multiple tasks of varying levels of complexity at any given time.
The candidate must be highly motivated to follow through with assignments and have strong interpersonal skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and solid computer skills. Proficiency with MS Office Suite and Adobe.
Qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records will be considered for the position in accordance with the California Fair Chance Act.
The pay range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on location, skillset and experience: $50,000 - $60,000
