Company Description
The Legal Counsel is a confident and forward-thinking attorney who can provide practical legal advice concerning all aspects of Red Bull’s marketing activities in the United States. You will review and analyze marketing and advertising content, events, and consumer activations/promotions for compliance with US laws and regulations while offering legal risk mitigation strategies across multiple jurisdictions. You will work closely with Red Bull’s media/content and marketing legal teams, IP/brand enforcement and regulatory legal teams, and interface directly daily with a broad range of client teams, including brand marketing, brand partnerships (In-bound sponsorships), sports marketing, gaming, and culture marketing groups.
Job Description
MARKETING AND PROMOTION AGREEMENTS
Provide legal support for all marketing activities in the US, includes drafting, negotiating and advising on sport, music, culture and gaming initiatives which includes event agreements, agency agreements, venue agreements, artist/athlete endorsements, out-bound sponsorships and partnership agreements, co-marketing agreements, IP licenses, consumer product and activation agreements, team sponsorship agreements and other related marketing arrangements. Provide legal support for US brand partnership team, including drafting, negotiation, and advising on In-bound sponsorship agreements and partnerships.
Structuring, drafting, and negotiating marketing and advertising agreements and providing legal advisory support for advertising and marketing consumer product activations
Support for marketing teams includes HQ and regional business units as well in areas of Gaming and Sports Marketing teams, Culture and Music Marketing, Trade Marketing and Brand Marketing (Product, Shopper, Initiatives)
Work with first-level support to support Marketing business teams' daily legal needs.
ADVERTISING
Provide legal support for consumer product advertising campaigns in the US and work with the US Data Privacy legal team to support data collection on such campaigns.
Support compliance and regulatory efforts with respect to US and global advertising campaigns.
CONTESTS & SWEEPSTAKES
Handle all contests, sweepstakes, and competitive sport and gaming documentation, including rules, guidelines, affidavits, prizing, bonds, and state and federal compliance matters.
COMPLIANCE & REGULATORY
Interfacing with the US and global regulatory team with respect to false and misleading advertising, FTC compliance, endorsement guidelines, and other marketing and advertising regulatory compliance.
Work closely with operations teams within legal and marketing groups to ensure that compliance matters are tracked and enforced, and workflows are established to minimize business risk and promote efficiency.
Qualifications
2+ years of experience practicing law in marketing, advertising, or regulatory compliance. [Big] Law firm or in-house experience is a must.
Preferred experience within a consumer product and/or entertainment marketing environment.
JD required
Member of the California Bar
Exceptional legal drafting and analytical skills.
Ability to work directly with executive leadership within organization and manage cross-functional stakeholders both domestically and globally
Ability to meet demanding deadlines without sacrificing the quality of work product.
Team player willing to work with other attorneys and staff at all levels.
Excellent problem-solving skills and pragmatic legal judgment.
High degree of flexibility and availability to travel as needed.
Additional Information
This position is open to U.S. citizens, U.S. permanent residents, or individuals who are currently authorized to work in the United States on a valid visa.
The base salary range for this position is $148,000 to $222,000 + cash incentives. Actual salary offers may vary based on work experience. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified.
