Nelson Mullins, an AmLaw 100 law firm, is seeking a Legal Billing Administrative Assistant to provide high-level support to a dynamic team of legal professionals in the downtown Los Angeles office. This role is ideal for a proactive, detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced legal environment, excels at managing client billing and administrative tasks, anticipates needs, solves problems, and contributes to the overall success of the team.

A Day in the LifeDuties of this position include providing billing, administrative, and legal support to attorneys, policy advisors, technical specialists, and paralegals. Billing related responsibilities, coordinated through the Billing Department, include preparing, reviewing, editing, transferring, and processing client invoices; revising prebills; entering attorney time; processing expense reports and reimbursements; managing billing holds, write-offs, and billing adjustments; maintaining accurate billing records; and ensuring compliance with firm policies and client billing guidelines. The ideal candidate has 3+ years of Billing and Administrative experience, preferably in a legal or corporate environment. Candidates should possess strong organizational, communication, and client service skills, along with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. 

  • A bachelor's degree is preferred, and candidates with relevant office experience may also be considered.
  • Ability to quickly learn new software and firm technologies.
  • Knowledge of legal terminology, legal procedures, law firm billing practices, and client billing guidelines preferred.

At Nelson Mullins, we are dedicated to transparent and fair compensation practices. Pay for this position is determined by factors such as experience, skills, and location.

  • Salary/Wage Range: $78,000 - $95,000 annually. In addition to base pay, employees may be eligible for merit-based raises and benefits such as healthcare, retirement plans, and paid time off.
