Lead Writer/Content Creator (Pet Brands)

We're Looking For A: Lead Story Producer who is responsible for leading the creative direction and vision by writing, directing, and producing short and long form sales videos for brands that market pet food and pet supplements directly to consumers. This role will help drive brand engagement and conversion, showcasing the benefits and quality of our products in an engaging and persuasive manner.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Oversee the creative execution of short-form and long-form marketing videos using a data-driven, test-and-learn approach.
• Find interesting, fresh stories/angles connected to dogs, cats and pet parents.
• Write scripts that combine a variety of storytelling narrative devices including narration, scripted copy, soundbites, video b-roll and graphics.
• Conduct documentary-style, on-camera interviews that elicit pithy compelling responses from brand "gurus" and customers (ie testimonials) and other on-camera talent.
• Collaborate with videographers to gather video assets (i.e.identify needed video footage, on-camera talent and b-roll opportunities)
• Oversee the creative production of in-studio shoots in collaboration with camera crew and production managers.
• Oversee the editing process. Collaborate with editors from pre-production to delivery, including providing feedback on edits, assist conceiving of graphics and on-screen text.
• Analyze performance data, and use data to create incremental video optimizations that scale.
• Available to drive, and occasionally travel, to locations in order to film and gather footage and conduct interviews.

Qualifications (Note: We strongly encourage you to apply even if you don't tick ALL of these boxes.):

• Exceptional non-fiction script writing skills (non-fiction, broadcasting, news writing, and documentary style)
• Understanding of video production
• Ability to formulate strategies on how to market pet health and wellness products in fresh, creative and different ways
• Understanding of digital mediums/up-to-date with trends and styles on Facebook, YouTube, TikTok, IG etc
• A highly creative self-starter who can work both independently and collaborate well with different teams
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment
• Bachelor's Degree (required)
• Bachelor's Degree in Writing, Film, or a related field (preferred)
• 7+ years' previous experience in video writing/production (required)
• 8-10 years experience writing to video and film/visual storytelling, ideally in wildlife documentaries, animal/pet TV series. (ie. shows on Animal Planet, NatGeo, Dog Whisperer etc.) (preferred)

The base salary range is $100,300.00 - 133,800.00, plus annual & monthly KPI bonus potential.
Salary is based on a wide range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications, and geographical location.
