Xometry is seeking a solution-oriented Team Lead for its Sourcing Department. This role involves leading a team of Sourcing Specialists and Coordinators to resolve the company's most complex manufacturing challenges, while also driving customer-first resolutions for its most complex projects. The Team Lead will provide hands-on leadership, coaching, and support to ensure efficient order placement, high-quality customer outcomes, and adherence to key performance metrics.

This role combines people leadership with: technical problem-solving; customer and supplier negotiations; and strategic problem-solving within a rapidly growing department. The ideal candidate is a leader who is comfortable guiding others while balancing their own high-risk orders.

Day to Day: 

  • Lead a team of sourcing professionals throughout the order recovery process and provide coaching, direction, and real-time guidance as appropriate.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for advanced recovery strategies, supplier and customer negotiations, and provide support to overcome complex sourcing challenges.
  • Prioritize escalations and redistribute your team’s workload as needed to achieve the team’s overall KPIs
  • Maintain strong cross-functional relationships with internal teams (Design Engineers, Manual Quoting Team, Sales, etc.) to coordinate recovery plans
  • Independently manage your queue of high-risk / high-visibility escalations

Skills: 

  • Capable of providing clear direction, feedback, and organized escalation summaries (communicated both verbally and in writing) for your team members and internal and external customers.
  • Advanced problem-solving and decision-making skills, particularly in high-pressure or time-sensitive situations
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to triage and prioritize multiple simultaneous escalations.
  • Comfortable working independently while staying responsive and available to team members
  • Proficiency with the Google Workspace (Docs and Sheets) or their Microsoft equivalents.  
  • Familiarity with Salesforce, Looker, and any CAD software is a plus

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Commerce, or a related field preferred
  • 3+ years of client-facing and vendor-facing experience, preferably in the manufacturing space
  • 2+ years of team leadership or mentoring experience, ideally in an operations, sourcing, or customer-facing environment
  • Demonstrated success managing escalated or complex workplace situations with clear communication and strong follow-through
