About Us

Fieldguide is establishing a new state of trust for global commerce and capital markets through automating and streamlining the work of assurance and audit practitioners specifically within cybersecurity, privacy, and financial audit. Put simply, we build software and AI Agents for the people who enable trust between businesses.

We’re based in San Francisco, CA, but built as a remote-first company that enables you to do your best work from anywhere. We're backed by top investors including Bessemer Venture Partners, 8VC, Floodgate, Y Combinator, DNX Ventures, Global Founders Capital, Justin Kan, Elad Gil, and more.

We value diversity — in backgrounds and in experiences. We need people from all backgrounds and walks of life to help build the future of audit and advisory. Fieldguide’s team is inclusive, driven, humble and supportive. We are deliberate and self-reflective about the kind of team and culture that we are building, seeking teammates that are not only strong in their own aptitudes but care deeply about supporting each other's growth.

As an early stage start-up employee, you’ll have the opportunity to build out the future of business trust. We make audit practitioners’ lives easier by eliminating up to 50% of their work and giving them better work-life balance. If you share our values and enthusiasm for building a great culture and product, you will find a home at Fieldguide.

About the Role

The Fieldguide Platform team owns the foundational building blocks i.e. documents, sheets, permissioning, API integrations that are leveraged across our products.

As a Lead PM on the platform team, you’ll define what to build in order to solve customer problems in a way that allows multiple products to succeed. We do this by distilling insights from key stakeholders across the company, customers, product-generated data, and competitive analysis.

What You’ll Do

  • Own and evolve the core components of the Fieldguide Platform, including permissions, integrations, and sheets, which underpin our long-term product strategy.

  • Dive deep into technical details while maintaining an unwavering focus on delivering a simple, intuitive, and delightful customer experience.

  • Partner closely across product, engineering, design, marketing, and customer-facing teams to architect an extensible, reliable platform that supports the needs of both internal product teams and Fieldguide’s growing customer base.

  • This is primarily an in-person role with at least 3 days a week in our San Francisco office.

Who You Are

  • 6-8+ years experience in product development/management

  • Self-starter with a bias towards action and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to communicate highly technical concepts to both non-technical and technically proficient audiences, including recent AI developments.

  • Degree in a technical or related field, or equivalent professional experience.

Bonus Points

  • Past experience in a platform role

  • Domain expertise in Audit, Assurance or Accounting

  • AI-related experience (experience developing AI agents a plus).

  • Some coding experience with React, Typescript, and Go.

  • MBA or equivalent professional experience (while this is a product management role, you will have the opportunity to lean into broader business roles).

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
