About Us

Circle is building the world’s leading all-in-one platform for online communities. We make it possible for creators, coaches, educators, and businesses to bring together their audience with engaging discussions, live streams, events, chat, courses, and payments — all in one place, all under their own brand.

We’re proud to be a fully remote company of around 200 (and growing!) team members from 30+ countries around the world. We seek exceptional individuals around the world, set them up to do the best work of their lives, and in turn, create a meaningful impact in their own lives. We don't track hours, but we do manage for high expectations very closely. We collaborate across time zones, are highly async, and like to document a lot.

Twice a year, we bring the whole company together in beautiful places around the world for our company offsites. So far, we’ve hosted offsites in Turkey, Portugal, Mexico, Thailand, Colombia, Italy, Ireland, and more, with still more to come!

About the role

We're looking for a Lead Product Designer for Growth at Circle.

You'll work across growth surfaces: activation, conversion, monetization, and product-led growth loops. Your work will directly impact conversion, activation, and revenue.

You'll own the experiences that help creators succeed on Circle—from sign-up and onboarding to billing and beyond. You'll move fast, design with care, and turn funnel data into high-impact decisions.

You'll partner closely with Growth, Product, and Engineering to drive business outcomes through product.

You'll be joining a design team where context is shared openly, ownership is real, and talented people are trusted to do their best work.

What you’ll be doing
  • Own the design strategy for growth across key surfaces (sign-up, onboarding, activation, upgrade paths, revenue flows)
  • Design end-to-end flows for sign-up, onboarding, and activation—optimizing for both conversion and long-term engagement
  • Own the billing and checkout experience: subscriptions, payments, upgrades, failed payments, and single-page checkout
  • Translate data, experimentation results, and research into clear product and design decisions
  • Frame and prioritize growth hypotheses with your PM/Growth partners and lead the design of experiments
  • Lead A/B testing efforts—from hypothesis and design to interpreting results
  • Monitor funnels, identify drop-off points, and ship targeted design interventions
  • Provide strong upward communication to design and product leadership: clear narratives, trade-offs, and recommendations
  • Partner closely with engineers, balancing speed with design quality
  • Operate with high autonomy and act as a design leader for the growth area
  • Spot opportunities proactively—you take initiative, not just briefs
What you’ll need to be successful
  • Strong alignment with our values, find our values on our career page if you haven’t read up on them yet.
  • You are proficient in English (spoken, written, and reading) at a CEFR Level C2 / ILR Level 5.
  • 6+ years of product design experience with a portfolio demonstrating strong UX and UI execution
  • Experience designing in growth teams: onboarding, activation, lifecycle, pricing/packaging, or monetization flows
  • Experience working with experimentation frameworks (A/B tests, multivariate, etc.) and using data to inform design
  • Proven success designing for conversion, activation, or retention
  • Data literacy—comfortable interpreting funnel performance and experiment results
  • You actively use AI tools to accelerate your design workflow (e.g., research synthesis, UX writing, exploring variants, quick mocks)
  • Experience with AI-assisted tools (e.g., v0, Cursor + Claude Code) when they help you move faster
  • Proficiency in Figma for high-fidelity design and collaborative work
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills—able to distill insights, explain decisions clearly, and collaborate effectively across teams
  • Familiarity with payment and checkout UX patterns, including trust signals and friction points
$140,000 - $170,000 USD per year

We are hiring at a Lead level for this role; however, we may consider offering this position at the Senior level depending on a candidate’s experience level alignment with the role. In either case, the offer would fall within the published compensation range.

The fun stuff
  • Fully remote: work from anywhere in the world!
  • Autonomy and trust to do your job: we care about outcomes over everything else.
  • Paid time away: all employees are given 35 days of PTO annually. We also offer a paid sabbatical after 5 years.
  • Generous U.S. benchmarked compensation and startup equity no matter where you are in the world.*
  • Awesome medical coverage with 100% coverage for you and your family, or medical reimbursement options where applicable!*
  • Parental leave for parents expanding their family, or just starting one.
  • Home office stipend to help you get up and running.
  • Learning & development stipend to help you level up your professional skills.
  • Annual bonus potential for roles that don't already receive variable income or commission.
  • Company retreats: Twice a year, the Circle team gets together for a fully paid company retreat in incredible places around the world! We’ve had past retreats in Colombia, Portugal, and Mexico, with more planned on the horizon.
  • Check out our Careers page for more.

Diversity, Equity & Inclusion

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
