We’re looking for a Lead Product Designer (Contract) to help shape the next phase of Peerspace’s growth. Our design team plays a central role in shaping experiences that delight both hosts and guests. You’ll join an initiative focused on product-led growth and new guest acquisition to assist guests learn how Peerspace is the perfect choice for hosting their next event or creative pursuit. Working closely with product, engineering, research, and design leadership to explore, define, and prototype new user experiences. Product-led growth focuses on improving the product experience to leverage our reach beyond SEO and paid marketing.
This is a project-based contract role for a designer who thrives in ambiguity and can move fluidly between concepting, storytelling, and defining clear, elegant design directions. You don’t get stuck waiting on others; you help them move forward. You’ll run experiments, synthesize feedback, defend your recommendations, and build high-fidelity prototypes that align stakeholders on vision and impact.
What You’ll Work On
* Leading design for end-to-end experiences that drive organic discovery, engagement, and conversion.
* Partnering with our Product Manager, Director of Design, and marketing to bring growth opportunities to life by turning concepts into tangible experiments that connect storytelling and product direction.
* Creating interactive prototypes that communicate concepts clearly—for both user testing and stakeholder alignment.
* Ensure new ideas can scale and fit into our ecosystem. You’ll sync with our Staff Designer for critique on design patterns and interactions.
* Bonus: Recommending and exploring how AI tools and Figma plug-ins can speed up ideation and prototyping.
Responsibilities
* Lead design exploration from initial concept through tested prototypes and developer-ready deliverables.
* Partner with the director of design to synthesize findings into actionable design hypotheses and recommendations.
* Create user-testable prototypes in Figma that capture interaction and flow.
* Work collaboratively with product management, marketing, and leadership by clearly presenting design work that balances user insights, business goals, and project constraints. You'll deliver both milestone presentations and Figma run-throughs for regular check-ins.
* You think in motion and believe that using animation and transitions helps guide user interactions and improve understanding.
* Project-manage your own work in close collaboration with your Product Manager. Share progress openly and maintain alignment with your team.
Qualifications
* 5–8+ years of experience designing digital products, ideally consumer-facing or marketplace platforms.
* Proven ability to take ambiguous problems and turn them into clear, testable design directions.
* You balance strategic thinking with exceptional visual and brand execution, ensuring every design feels distinctly Peerspace.
* Expertise in Figma, including auto-layout, components, variants, and advanced prototyping.
* Experience using at least one motion tool such as Framer, Principle, ProtoPie, or After Effects.
* Demonstrated an ability to work across discovery, concepting, and validation phases with a broad range of stakeholders.
* Strong communication skills and experience in stakeholder management. You can align teams, tell a story, and make decisions collaboratively.
* Comfortable working independently in a fast-moving, project-based environment. We’re fully remote, so staying transparent about what you’re working on and showing progress is key. You manage your time well and naturally keep others in the loop.
* Bonus: Curious about how AI tools can accelerate exploration, prototyping, or content generation.
