Serve as the primary bridge between business stakeholders and IT/Engineering to intake, triage, and architect requirements for mobile and eCommerce initiatives. Own mobile product strategy and vendor management (Tapcart), drive backlog grooming, scope handoffs to delivery and QA, surface tradeoffs, and unblock delivery by clarifying edge cases and dependencies.

We are looking for a Lead Product Analyst to serve as the primary bridge between our business partners and our IT/Engineering teams. As the first point of contact for stakeholders, you are the intake owner, requirements architect, and strategic voice ensuring mobile and eCommerce initiatives move from vision to execution with clarity and confidence. You are an active facilitator—translating business goals into well-structured implementation strategies and surfacing edge cases before they become technical blockers.

Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Intake & Triage: Act as the primary interface for new projects, enhancements, and issue reports. Distinguish actionable requests from discovery-phase tickets, route appropriately, and maintain intake discipline.
  • Requirements Architecture: Proactively draft business requirements to accelerate alignment. Interrogate messy or incomplete requests to help stakeholders identify gaps, edge cases, and dependencies before sprint planning.
  • Mobile App Product Strategy: Own the technical roadmap and prioritization logic for our mobile app (Tapcart). Manage the vendor relationship, coordinate integrations, and drive forward momentum on active initiatives.
  • Functional Handoff to Delivery: Deliver a well-scoped, stakeholder-aligned requirements package to the Delivery & QA lead. Maintain a tight feedback loop with the delivery team to monitor scope changes and prevent strategic misalignment during sprints.
  • Backlog Grooming & Prioritization: Drive regular grooming sessions to ensure tickets are actionable, sequenced, and aligned with business priorities. Surface tradeoffs to leadership and actively recommend prioritization rather than just presenting lists.
  • Unblocker: Identify missing links in requests, make informed assumptions, and keep the team moving.

Key Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Mobile Commerce: Deep experience with retail mobile apps; hands-on Tapcart experience preferred but not required.
  • Omnichannel Retail: Understanding of how digital and in-store touchpoints interact (unified profiles, clienteling, QR/POS integration).
  • Personalization & Loyalty: Ability to help stakeholders define the logic behind rewards, segmentation, and tailored experiences.
  • Vendor Coordination: Comfortable managing third-party relationships across platform vendors and integration partners.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Positive Facilitator: You operate with a "Yes, and..." posture—validating stakeholder energy while providing the technical context to refine ideas. You view IT as a primary source of enablement for the brand, not a gate.
  • Strategic Analyst: You take pride in the quality of your implementation strategy and the velocity of delivery. You don't wait for perfect input; you are comfortable drafting strawman proposals to drive sharper conversations.
  • Technical Translator: You can take real technical constraints and communicate them to non-technical partners in a way that feels collaborative, not limiting.

Physical/Environmental Demands and Overtime & Availability:

Work is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards. Must have the ability to walk short distances. Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a small amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Repetitive motion. Adequate movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. Team members are required to have close visual acuity to perform activities such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.

*Job descriptions are merely a summary of the position. Duties and responsibilities are subject to change and may include any other that management finds necessary to successfully maintain business operations.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
