The Hartford has an exciting Strategic HR Business Partner role that will support our Data, Analytics, Generative AI and Emerging Technology Functions. The Lead HR Business Partner will spearhead significant initiatives in alignment with The Hartford’s ambitious technology and data agenda. This includes enabling the execution of enterprise-wide data strategy and capabilities at scale through comprehensive workforce strategies. Key areas of focus will encompass organizational design and effectiveness, role and process reimagination, skilling for the future, talent management, culture and engagement, career pathways, employer brand and innovative acquisition approaches.

 Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a critical thought partner and advisor to our Chief Data & Analytics Officer, leaders, and employees, demonstrating strong executive coaching and influencing skills to enhance organizational performance.

  • Align business objectives with The Hartford’s Data agenda to devise and implement impactful people solutions.

  • Proactively facilitate, design, and execute forward-looking people strategies including talent acquisition, organizational design and effectiveness, workforce planning, career development, skilling, performance management, engagement, succession planning, and retention strategies to build high-performing teams.

  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and their impacts on the current and future workforce. Implement HR strategies to prepare for the future and ensure the organization remains competitive.

  • Champion initiatives to cultivate a culture of innovation, inclusion, and continuous improvement within both the Data & Analytics organizations and the HR function; aiming to differentiate the employee experience and position the organization as a the destination to work

  • Anticipate and lead scaled changes required to evolve the technology and data workforce and its operating model.

  • Utilize data and analytics to identify trends and opportunities that inform people and business decisions.

  • Participate as a leader or member of project teams focusing on HR and cross-organizational initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience as a human resources business partner in a large corporate setting is required. Experience in large public companies supporting Information Technology or Data in an Agile environment is strongly preferred.

  • A bachelor's degree is required; an advanced degree is preferred

  • Demonstrated ability to consult, coach, build and maintain trusted relationships senior executives that influence business outcomes

  • Demonstrated ability to create, execute, and drive business outcomes through end-to-end talent management and development strategies

  • Experience developing and executing effective organizational design and structures

  • Experience leveraging data analytics to support and articulate a business case for change

  • Working knowledge of Data, Analytics, Generative AI and Emerging Technologies

  • Successfully leading enterprise-wide projects is strongly preferred, including creating project plans, identifying key stakeholders, defining success criteria, and managing scope, teams, and deadlines effectively

  • Experience successfully leading organizations through change management.

  • Ability to connect the dots, take initiative, and display excellent independent judgment.

  • Willingness to travel as needed (up to approximately 20% of the time, depending on location).

Compensation

The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:

$134,240 - $201,360
