The Lead Finance Systems Administrator is responsible for the administration, optimization, integration, governance, and continuous improvement of CareDx's Finance systems portfolio, with NetSuite serving as the Company's core ERP platform and Coupa, Concur, FloQast, and related applications supporting critical financial operations. This role serves as the primary technical owner for Finance systems, partnering closely with Accounting, Finance, Procurement, Internal Audit, and IT stakeholders to deliver scalable, secure, and well-controlled solutions that support business objectives.

The Lead Finance Systems Administrator provides technical leadership for system configuration, integrations, vendor management, platform enhancements, and operational support. This individual translates business and accounting requirements into effective technology solutions while ensuring the reliability, compliance, and performance of systems supporting financial reporting, procure-to-pay, expense management, month-end close, audit readiness, and SOX-regulated processes.

Reporting and Key Partnerships

Reports to the Manager, IT SOX & Corporate Applications, serving as the primary technical owner for NetSuite and the supporting Finance systems landscape, including Coupa, Concur, FloQast, and other related systems/integrations.

  • Partner closely with the VP Controller, Accounting, FP&A, Procurement, Supply Chain, Internal Audit, and business stakeholders to support financial operations, reporting requirements, period-end close activities, compliance initiatives, and business process improvements.
  • Collaborate with IT infrastructure, security, integration, and application teams to ensure Finance systems are secure, reliable, scalable, and aligned with enterprise technology standards.
  • Own relationships with external vendors, implementation partners, consultants, and managed service providers, ensuring project delivery, technical quality, documentation, testing, and knowledge transfer meet organizational expectations.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to Finance and Accounting leadership, translating business requirements into scalable, well-governed technology solutions that support business growth, operational efficiency, audit readiness, and SOX compliance.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams on acquisitions, system enhancements, process automation, master data governance, integrations, and other strategic initiatives impacting the Finance technology ecosystem.

Responsibilities: 

Finance Systems Administration and Governance

  • Own the administration, optimization, governance, and strategic roadmap for the CareDx Finance systems portfolio, including NetSuite, Coupa, Concur, FloQast, and related financial applications.
  • Serve as the primary technical owner and subject matter expert for Finance systems architecture, configuration, integrations, security, and support.
  • Develop and maintain system standards, documentation, operating procedures, and governance processes that promote scalability, reliability, and compliance.
  • Drive platform enhancements and process improvements that improve user experience, operational efficiency, reporting capabilities, and control effectiveness.
  • Establish and maintain disciplined change management practices, including requirements gathering, testing, approvals, deployment controls, and documentation.

Finance and Accounting Enablement

  • Translate accounting and finance requirements into practical NetSuite solutions across close, revenue, billing, procure-to-pay, accounts payable, purchasing, cash, inventory, intercompany, consolidations, reporting, and audit support.
  • Support monthly and quarterly close requirements by improving workflows, reports, reconciliations, saved searches, dashboards, and exception reporting.
  • Create reporting capabilities to support consolidation of financials across multiple subsidiaries, entities, departments, and management reporting layers.
  • Improve accounting processes and workflows for various segments of the business, including processes introduced through acquisitions or new business units.
  • Partner with the VP Controller and Accounting leadership to prioritize system work based on financial reporting risk, operational urgency, compliance impact, and business value.

External Consultant and Project Management

  • Own relationships with external consultants, implementation partners, and managed service providers supporting Finance applications.
  • Oversee project scope, timelines, budgets, solution design, testing, documentation, and knowledge transfer activities.
  • Evaluate recommendations from vendors and consultants to ensure proposed solutions meet CareDx requirements for scalability, supportability, compliance, and long-term maintainability.

Integrations, Systems, and Data

  • Support integrations between NetSuite and adjacent finance or operational systems, including expense management, procurement, inventory or warehouse tools, banking, reporting, and other finance applications.
  • Partner with IT and business owners to troubleshoot integration errors, data mapping issues, master data governance concerns, and failed or incomplete transactions.
  • Support acquisition integration activities, including subsidiary setup, master data alignment, data migration, reporting layers, process stabilization, and post-close support.
  • Help define the long-term architecture and roadmap for the Finance systems ecosystem, ensuring solutions remain scalable, maintainable, and aligned with business objectives.

Training, Adoption, and Stakeholder Support

  • Provide practical training, guidance, and job aids for new and existing users across Accounting, Finance, Supply Chain, and other business teams.
  • Build credibility with accounting users by understanding their process pain points and communicating solutions in clear business language.
  • Create a consistent intake and prioritization process for enhancement requests, support tickets, close-related issues, reporting needs, and control remediation items.
  • Manage support tickets issued through ServiceNow or similar ticketing tools, where applicable.

Audit, SOX, and Compliance Support

  • Support the external audit process by helping Accounting and related teams gather system evidence, access support, configuration information, audit documentation, and reports required by external auditors.
  • Partner with Accounting, SOX owners, and external auditors to investigate and resolve audit findings, account discrepancies, access concerns, and issues of non-compliance.
  • Support user access reviews, role design reviews, segregation of duties analysis, change management evidence, and control remediation activities.
  • Ensure finance application administration practices support audit readiness, including evidence retention, approval documentation, and clear ownership of configuration decisions.
  • Participate in risk assessments, control improvement initiatives, and governance activities related to Finance technology.

Minimum Education, Experience, & Specialized Knowledge (Required): 

  • 5+ years of progressive NetSuite administration, finance systems, and ERP implementation experience, with hands-on configuration responsibility in a complex company environment.
  • Strong NetSuite technical skillset across roles and permissions, workflows, saved searches, reports, dashboards, custom records, forms, bundles, release management, sandbox testing, and production deployment practices.
  • At least one year of experience using or administering Coupa.
  • Working understanding of core accounting and finance processes, including close, procure-to-pay, order-to-cash, inventory, revenue, consolidations, intercompany, reporting, and audit support.
  • Experience managing or coordinating external consultants, developers, or implementation partners.
  • Experience with integrations between NetSuite, Coupa, Concur, and other finance or operational systems.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain technical issues to Accounting and Finance stakeholders.
  • Ability to take ownership, prioritize competing requests, manage details carefully, and operate in a public-company control environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Public company, SOX, external audit, regulated life sciences, healthcare, or similar controlled-environment experience.

Preferred

  • Experience supporting acquisitions, subsidiary expansion, multi-entity reporting, post-close integration, or ERP stabilization after business combinations.
  • Experience with expense management, procurement, contract lifecycle, warehouse/inventory, banking, reporting, or other systems that integrate with NetSuite.
  • NetSuite certification, SuiteAnalytics, SuiteFlow, SuiteScript familiarity, or comparable technical credentials.
  • SAP Concur, ServiceNow, procurement systems, reporting tools, or similar finance application experience.

This is the anticipated base salary range for candidates who will work in Brisbane, California. The final salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include, but are not limited to, the type and length of experience within the job, the type and length of experience within the industry, education, etc. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives and restricted stock units.
