• Partner with cross-functional teams—including product, engineering, and stakeholders—to create thoughtful, human-centered design solutions.
• Create a wide range of UX artifacts, including sketches, wireframes, specifications, prototypes, scenarios, storyboards, sitemaps, user and screen flows, journey maps, and personas.
• Lead the creation of polished wireframes for complex flows and scenarios, ensuring alignment with strategy and supporting sprint planning.
• Develop and maintain scalable design systems that promote consistency, accessibility, and quality across products and platforms.
• Conduct research and strategy activities such as landscape analysis, heuristic and current-state audits, and opportunity identification.
• Synthesize research findings across user, business, and market perspectives to inform design decisions and product strategy.
• Develop product visions, feature sets, and roadmaps that balance user needs with business goals.
Leverage AI design tooling and emerging technologies to enhance the design process while staying ahead of evolving industry trends.
• Lead presentations, workshops, and collaborative sessions with clients and internal partners, clearly communicating design rationale and strategic intent.
• Build trusted, collaborative relationships with clients and teammates through creativity, curiosity, and problem-solving.
• Identify opportunities to improve design processes, team collaboration, and ways of working.
• Contribute to a culture of inclusion, learning, and continuous improvement.

Experience and Skills
A portfolio demonstrating a range of digital product, service, or systems design work.
• Approximately 7+ years of professional experience in UX, product, or experience design—or equivalent practical expertise.
Familiarity with AI-powered design tools and workflows, and an interest in exploring how emerging technologies can enhance the design process.
• Ability to clearly articulate design process and decision-making through wireframes, sitemaps, user flows, prototypes, and documentation.
• Experience leading or contributing to cross-functional teams delivering human-centered digital experiences.
• Strong conceptual, strategic, and systems-thinking skills.
• Experience creating and overseeing complex wireframes, sitemaps, and user flows at multiple levels of scale.
• Experience producing detailed documentation and collaborating with design and development partners to support effective handoffs.
• Familiarity with prototyping and light animation to communicate interaction and intent.
• Experience with research and strategy best practices, and the ability to synthesize insights into clear opportunity areas.
• Strong collaboration, communication, and presentation skills.
• Commitment to inclusive, accessible, and equitable design practices.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
