Outset invented a better way to do research: AI-powered user interviews.

Global brands like Hubspot, Microsoft, Uber and Nestle use Outset to achieve deeper, qualitative insights about their users at unprecedented speed and scale.

The research industry is massive (>$140B and growing) and ripe for disruption. Incumbents are outdated, slow, and burdened by high-cost services. That's our opportunity.

Outset is backed by top Silicon Valley investors and raised a $30M Series B in December 2025—less than six months after our Series A—led by Radical Ventures with participation from M12 (Microsoft’s venture arm), 8VC, Y Combinator, and Adverb Ventures.

The raise follows a breakout year, with our business growing 8x as enterprise customers across industries adopt our category, AI‑moderated research, as the new standard for understanding people.

We’re a tight-knit team of 40 based in San Francisco’s Financial District, serving some of the world’s largest enterprises

You’ll take ownership of our event marketing strategy — from flagship conferences and high-touch field dinners to partner activations and major industry sponsorships. This is a high-impact, cross-functional role to translate our story into memorable in-person and virtual experiences. You’ll shape how our brand shows up in the world — building experiences that get people talking and drive real impact for the business.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead the company’s annual event marketing strategy, aligning programs to GTM pipeline goals and brand awareness objectives.

  • Own execution of events end-to-end: planning, budgeting, vendor management, creative direction, and onsite production.

  • Build and manage an event calendar spanning hosted, sponsored, and third-party events.

  • Collaborate with sales to design experiences that attract and convert target accounts.

  • Partner with content, design, and product marketing to ensure consistent storytelling and branding.

  • Partner with growth, sales, and customer success to fill rooms with the right people, at the right time.

  • Track performance through leads, engagement metrics, and ROI reporting.

  • Negotiate contracts with venues, agencies, and event vendors.

  • Experiment with new event formats and creative activations to differentiate our brand in a crowded space.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years in event marketing, field marketing, or experiential marketing roles; startup or B2B SaaS experience preferred.

  • Proven success leading large-scale event programs with measurable business results.

  • Expert project manager with strong creative instincts and attention to detail.

  • Comfortable running both strategic planning and tactical execution.

  • Excellent communicator, collaborator, and storyteller.

  • Enjoys moving fast and operating with autonomy in a growing startup environment.

Benefits

  • Daily collaboration with founders, shaping the core product vision.

  • Exposure to and collaboration with design and research leaders at top global brands.

  • Competitive cash and equity compensation. Actual compensation packages are based on various factors unique to each candidate, including skill set, depth of experience, and certifications.

Outset is an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees, free from discrimination based on race, religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, disability, or any other protected class.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
