Outset invented a better way to do research: AI-powered user interviews.

Global brands like Hubspot, Microsoft, Uber and Nestle use Outset to achieve deeper, qualitative insights about their users at unprecedented speed and scale.

The research industry is massive (>$140B and growing) and ripe for disruption. Incumbents are outdated, slow, and burdened by high-cost services. That's our opportunity.

Outset is backed by top Silicon Valley investors and raised a $30M Series B in December 2025—less than six months after our Series A—led by Radical Ventures with participation from M12 (Microsoft’s venture arm), 8VC, Y Combinator, and Adverb Ventures.

The raise follows a breakout year, with our business growing 8x as enterprise customers across industries adopt our category, AI‑moderated research, as the new standard for understanding people.

We’re a tight-knit team of 40 based in San Francisco’s Financial District, serving some of the world’s largest enterprises

We’re building a modern go-to-market engine and looking for a Content Marketer who can turn complex product value into clear, compelling stories that drive pipeline. Content is a core growth lever for us, not a side project. You’ll be the primary owner of our content engine at an inflection point in company growth.

Responsibilities

  • Own the content strategy across the full funnel (awareness, consideration, decision) to support sales-led revenue goals.

  • Plan and manage an editorial calendar aligned to product launches, campaigns, sales priorities, and existing content optimization.

  • Create content across multiple formats - from short-form video, to tools & templates and interactive demos, to webinars - move beyond traditional blog posts to tell our story and reach our audience

  • Manage existing content agency and plan how to scale content further using people or tools for video and content production, campaigns, and design, etc.

  • Analyze the impact of content and prioritize the roadmap based on content that builds our brand, drives traffic, and converts.

  • Collaborate with our growth team to ensure content helps us hit pipeline goals through personalized and signal-based campaigns, social campaigns, and ecosystem partner campaigns

  • Manage and prioritize content requests, interview and/or ghostwrite with subject matter experts, and serve as the primary editor across teams

Qualifications

  • 4–6 years of content marketing experience in B2B, ideally at a SaaS company selling to enterprises.

  • Portfolio that shows you can explain technical products clearly, tell a story, and write for different stages of the buyer journey.

  • Experience hiring and managing contractors and agencies to help with content production

  • Strong grasp of SEO fundamentals (keyword research, search intent, on-page optimization, internal linking) and how they map to content strategy.

  • Comfortable owning metrics: you know how to use tools like Google Analytics, Search Console, HubSpot/Marketo, or similar to measure impact.

  • Highly organized, able to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced startup environment.

  • Experience with webinar programs, light design skills (Figma/Canva)

Benefits

  • Daily collaboration with founders, shaping the core product vision.

  • Exposure to and collaboration with design and research leaders at top global brands.

  • Competitive cash and equity compensation. Actual compensation packages are based on various factors unique to each candidate, including skill set, depth of experience, and certifications.

Outset is an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees, free from discrimination based on race, religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, disability, or any other protected class.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
