About the Team:

The Finance team spans FP&A, corporate development, and business operations, combining financial rigor with deep technical context. From shaping the company’s long-term strategy to supporting capital raises and driving operational insights, this team sits at the center of critical decision-making. With a small, high-impact team, you’ll have the opportunity to stretch across disciplines, influence the trajectory of the company, and deliver meaningful value back into the business every day.
About the Role:

We are hiring for a Lead, Corporate Finance role to be the finance partner for our G&A functions and to own planning and reporting for a set of departments end to end. You will be the person your business partners come to when they need to understand their budget, plan headcount, or make the financial case for a decision. It is a hands-on role for someone who is close to the numbers, comfortable in the model and the system, and able to turn analysis into clear guidance for non-finance leaders. This role reports to the Senior Director, Corporate Finance.

  • Act as the primary finance partner for functional leaders across G&A (HR, IT, Legal, Facilities, and others), helping them manage OpEx budgets and evaluate the return on departmental spend, and own consolidated, company-wide headcount planning by maintaining the headcount model, tracking hiring against plan, and providing the financial view for company-wide initiatives leadership is evaluating
  • Own the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) cycle for your assigned cost centers, rolling up your departments' plans and running quarterly reforecasts in Planful, and build scenario and what-if models that support decisions on headcount, spend, and other strategic initiatives, surfacing variances while they are still actionable
  • Partner with Product and Sales to develop pricing models, assess customer unit economics, and keep pricing aligned with our profitability targets
  • Drive the Monthly Business Review (MBR) cadence for your cost centers, preparing clear, concise variance explanations and surfacing operational risks and opportunities, and develop and maintain the KPIs and metrics that give budget owners and leadership a consistent way to measure performance and accountability
  • Partner with the Finance Systems team to improve and automate planning and reporting in Planful, building and maintaining self-service dashboards that give departmental budget owners visibility into their performance while reducing manual work and standardizing processes as the company scales
  • Take on ad-hoc analysis and special projects for finance and business leadership, bringing structure to open-ended questions and turning them into clear recommendations

About You:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field with 5+ years of FP&A or finance experience, ideally including business partnering with non-finance stakeholders
  • Advanced financial modeling skills and comfort working with large datasets
  • Hands-on experience with EPM/CPM platforms (Planful, Anaplan, Hyperion, or similar) building dynamic reports, creating templates, and manipulating data views
  • Strong communication skills, with a track record of making financial concepts clear to non-finance partners
  • A self-starter who is comfortable operating in ambiguity, creating structure where standard processes don't yet exist
  • Able to manage multiple workstreams and competing deadlines at once

Nice to Haves:

  • Experience in a capital-intensive, manufacturing, hardware, or aerospace environment
  • Exposure to Infor LN or a comparable manufacturing ERP
  • Experience with pricing or unit-economics analysis
  • Working knowledge of SQL and data visualization tools

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
