You are a hands-on architect with a passion for building robust solutions and a keen eye for detail. You thrive on solving complex technical challenges, partnering closely with engineers and stakeholders, and applying emerging technology thoughtfully to deliver measurable outcomes in a highly controlled environment.

As a Lead Architect at JPMorganChase within the Kinexys team in the Commercial & Investment Bank, you will define and drive the technical target state for key products and capabilities. You will work side-by-side with engineering teams to design, build, and evolve secure and resilient solutions that meet business needs today while preparing for future growth. You will leverage enterprise-authorized artificial intelligence capabilities to accelerate architecture discovery and decision-making, applying strong human-in-the-loop validation and careful handling of sensitive data.

Job responsibilities

  • Engage technical teams and business stakeholders to discuss and propose technical approaches to meet current and future needs
  • Define the technical target state of your product and drive achievement of the strategy
  • Leverage enterprise-authorized AI capabilities within the work environment to accelerate architecture discovery and decisioning, with human-in-the-loop validation and appropriate handling of sensitive data
  • Evaluate recommendations and provide feedback on new technologies, including outcomes-oriented evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to assess architectural designs and applicability within existing systems and information
  • Execute creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with the ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
  • Develop secure and high-quality production code, and review and debug code written by others
  • Identify opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems
  • Establish reuse-first AI-enabled engineering patterns and governance across software development life cycle and toolchain practices, ensuring traceability, auditability, resiliency, and security controls

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills 

  • Formal training or certification on architecture concepts and 5+ years applied experience
  • Practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
  • Proficiency across software development life cycle execution, including automation and continuous delivery practices and agile methods such as continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD), application resiliency, and security
  • Demonstrated proficiency within a technical discipline (for example, cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, or mobile) and ability to evaluate current and emerging technologies to recommend future-state solutions
  • Experience applying enterprise-authorized AI capabilities within the work environment in software engineering and architecture workflows, with strong validation habits and awareness of data sensitivity
  • Ability to evaluate and integrate AI-enabled capabilities into cloud-native architectures while meeting resiliency, security, and auditability requirements
  • Hands-on experience with public blockchain ledger platforms including Ethereum (Solidity, Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM)) and alternative Layer 1/Layer 2 chains such as Solana, covering smart contract development, deployment pipelines, and token standards (ERC-20, ERC-721)
  • Practical knowledge of the broader blockchain ecosystem tooling, including wallets, remote procedure call (RPC) providers, block explorers, indexers, and on-chain/off-chain integration patterns

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Experience with blockchain protocols, smart contract development, and decentralized application integration
  • Experience with cloud migration, multi-cloud strategies, and cloud security best practices
  • Familiarity with modern front-end technologies
  • Exposure to emerging technologies in financial services
  • Advanced proficiency in one or more programming languages
