As a Lead AI Research Scientist, you will drive cutting-edge AI research and experimentation to shape the future of AI at Capital Group. Your work will power innovative solutions that elevate our leadership in asset management, including conversational assistants for investment guidance, personalized recommender systems that deliver investment content and product recommendations to clients, sophisticated time-series models that analyze decades of data (thousands of attributes) to predict clients’ next best actions, and optimization algorithms to enhance client engagement.

You will lead high-impact research initiatives, collaborate with scientists and engineers to explore emerging techniques, and publish industry-leading ideas that empower our broader AI community.

• You hold an MS or PhD in Computer Science, AI, ML, or a related field, with a strong academic foundation and a proven research track record.
• You bring 6+ years (post-MS) or 4+ years (post-PhD) of experience delivering advanced AI solutions and leading complex, ambiguous projects from concept to production.
• You have deep expertise in generative AI, LLMs, agentic systems, knowledge graphs, reinforcement learning, and advanced architectures like Transformers and deep neural networks.
• You stay at the forefront of AI advancements, applying state-of-the-art research to solve real-world business challenges and deliver production-ready innovations.
• You communicate complex AI concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences, influencing strategy and direction across the organization.
• You foster a collaborative, innovative culture by mentoring and inspiring fellow scientists and engineers.

In addition to a highly competitive base salary, per plan guidelines, restrictions and vesting requirements, you also will be eligible for an individual annual performance bonus, plus Capital’s annual profitability bonus plus a retirement plan where Capital contributes 15% of your eligible earnings.
