Job Description:

JOB SUMMARY:

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Process Engineer II to support and optimize our manufacturing operations for dental consumables. This role is key to sustaining production equipment and processes, investigating and resolving non-conformances, and driving improvements through engineering change orders.

You will also play a critical role in establishing and managing outsourced vendor manufacturing and quality plans. Additionally, you’ll contribute to continuous improvement initiatives such as Kaizen and 5S, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to promote operational excellence.

Success in this position requires a strong commitment to safety, quality, and clear communication, along with the flexibility for occasional domestic travel (up to 10%).

This position will be based in Pomona, CA location in the near future, and will work from our Orange, CA location in the interim.

PRIMARY DUTIES &

  • Supports the sustainment of production equipment and existing manufacturing processes. This includes gathering use requirements, equipment specifications, quotes, procurement activities, and validations.
  • Establishes outsourced vendor manufacturing and quality plans.
  • Maintains an understanding of all current manufacturing processes and identifies targets for improvement via collection/trending and analysis of operational data.
  • Leads small projects based on identified opportunities.
  • Provides support to Senior and above Engineers for projects of greater complexity.
  • Provides support for Utilizes Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VAVE) methodologies when driving continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Actively participates in continuous improvement activities including but not limited to Kaizen and 5S events, Problem Solving Process, Value Stream Mapping, and Transaction Process Improvement.
  • Effectively collaborates with cross-functional teams to meet business objectives.
  • Adheres to all company policies and procedures including safety and quality.
  • Travels up to 10% domestically.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electro-Mechanical Engineering, or related field required.
  • 2+ years of relevant work experience in a highly regulated manufacturing environment required.
  • Strong knowledge of chemical-based production processes related to composite compounding and powder processing required.
  • Experience in applying Lean concepts/tools required.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Aptitude to quickly learn business systems.
  • Strong verbal and technical written communication skills in English.
  • Ability to build strong partnerships with other departments.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good analytical skills.
  • Good presentation skills.
  • Ability to handle situations with confidence, tact, and resourcefulness
  • Detail-oriented and the ability to solve problems of moderate complexity and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization.
  • Proven skills in active listening with a seeking-to-understand approach.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with finished goods packaging methods and best practices preferred.
  • Knowledge in troubleshooting automation equipment.

Target Market Salary Range:

Actual compensation packages take into account a wide range of factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to geographic location; skill sets; relevant education and certifications; depth of experience; performance; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed reasonable estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled.  At Envista, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The total compensation package for this position may also include an annual performance bonus, medical/dental/vision benefits, 401K match, and/or other applicable compensation plans.
