Samba is a media intelligence company. We know what the world is watching, reading, and thinking about — in real time, at scale, across every screen. Our data exists with the consent of over a billion people, organized into the most complete picture of consumer attention ever built. The biggest brands in the world use that picture to make smarter decisions. We think it’s the most interesting data asset on the planet, because it’s the most culturally relevant.

Samba's Design team is looking for a Junior Designer to help bring our brand to life across marketing, product, and event touchpoints. You'll work closely with Head of Design Andy Shields and collaborate across Marketing, Product, and Sales to create visual assets that communicate the power of TV data and audience intelligence — with clarity, craft, and consistency.

This is a role for someone who is curious, detail-oriented, and genuinely excited about how AI is reshaping the creative process. You won't just be executing requests — you'll be expected to bring ideas, push the work forward, and grow fast in a team that moves quickly.

What You'll Do

  • Design across a wide range of formats: social graphics, digital ads, email templates, presentations, event collateral, and sales enablement materials
  • Maintain and apply Samba's visual brand system consistently across all outputs
  • Collaborate with the Marketing and Content teams to bring campaigns and product stories to life visually
  • Support event and trade show design needs, including signage, booth materials, and branded experiences (including Samba Summit)
  • Use AI-powered design tools — including Midjourney, Adobe Firefly, and generative features within Figma and the Adobe Suite — to accelerate ideation, explore concepts, and increase output quality
  • Participate in design reviews and incorporate feedback efficiently and constructively
  • Help maintain organized design file libraries and asset management systems
  • Contribute to motion and 2D animation needs as the role and your skills develop

What We're Looking For

  • 0–2 years of design experience (internships, freelance, or full-time)
  • Proficient in Figma
  • Hands-on experience with AI design tools (Claude, Flora Fauna, Midjourney)
  • Strong eye for typography, layout, and visual hierarchy — your portfolio shows it
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where priorities can shift and timelines are real
  • Collaborative and communicative — you ask good questions, take feedback well, and flag blockers early
  • Portfolio required — show us a range of work across digital and print, and call out any AI-assisted pieces
  • Experience with motion graphics or 2D animation a plus
  • Familiarity with presentation design (Google Slides, Keynote) a plus
  • Background or interest in adtech, media, or data-driven industries a plus

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
