Job Description

As a Junior Account Executive on the Fusion team, you will take the next step in your sales career by owning opportunities from initial outreach through close. Fusion is built specifically for speech, occupational, and physical therapy practices, helping providers streamline operations and focus on patient care.

In this role, you'll manage a mix of inbound leads and self-generated opportunities while building the skills and commercial judgment needed to become a successful full-cycle Account Executive. You'll have the autonomy to identify target accounts, run your own territory strategy, and make informed decisions about which opportunities to pursue. Success is measured by the quality of your pipeline, your ability to convert opportunities into customers, and the revenue you generate.

What You'll Do
  • Work a dedicated share of inbound marketing-qualified leads, with opportunity volume increasing as you ramp into the role.
  • Build and maintain a consistent outbound pipeline through research-driven prospecting and personalized outreach.
  • Identify, prioritize, and engage therapy practices that align with Fusion's ideal customer profile.
  • Conduct discovery conversations to understand operational challenges, business objectives, and buying readiness.
  • Deliver product demonstrations that connect Fusion's capabilities to the needs of speech, occupational, and physical therapy providers.
  • Qualify opportunities rigorously and make informed decisions about which opportunities to advance or disqualify.
  • Manage smaller opportunities from first conversation through signed agreement.
  • Collaborate with senior Account Executives on larger or more complex opportunities, providing clear customer insights and handoff information.
  • Maintain accurate pipeline, activity, and forecast data within Salesforce.
  • Leverage AI-powered tools and sales technologies to improve productivity, outreach effectiveness, and customer engagement.
  • Partner closely with Marketing, Sales Development, and Customer Success to create a strong customer experience throughout the buying journey.

What You BringRequired Qualifications
  • 1+ year of experience in a Sales Development Representative (SDR), Business Development Representative (BDR), or similar sales role.
  • Demonstrated success generating pipeline that resulted in qualified opportunities and revenue outcomes.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including confidence engaging prospects by phone, email, and virtual meetings.
  • Ability to conduct research, identify customer needs, and tailor outreach strategies accordingly.
  • Experience using Salesforce, Outreach, or similar sales engagement and CRM platforms.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and opportunities simultaneously.
  • Curiosity, coachability, and a growth mindset with a desire to learn the full sales cycle.
  • Experience using AI tools to improve productivity, or a strong interest in learning how to incorporate AI into daily work.

Studies have consistently highlighted the significance of this principle, particularly for individuals from disenfranchised backgrounds, including women and other marginalized groups. These individuals often hesitate to apply unless they meet every single requirement, unlike their male counterparts who are more inclined to apply when they meet around 60% of the criteria.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
