Job Description “Junior Accountant”
Summary:
The Accountant records financial transactions and provides financial information to management by researching and analyzing accounting data; preparing reports.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain accounts receivable and issue invoices
- Responsible for the timely and accurate posting and reconciliation of the general ledger
- Support implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures in compliance with GAAP
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting
- Assist with year-end audit
- Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as requested
- Monitor outstanding balances and follow up on overdue payments
- Post and reconcile daily cash receipts and disbursements
Specific tasks may change as the needs of the business progress.
Requirements:
- Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or in related area with accounting certificate
- Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Familiarity with accounting financial statements with the ability to prepare and analyze financial statements
- High level of attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and ability to prioritize demands and meet deadline
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced QuickBooks experience
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Vlookup and pivot tables
- Current or actively working to obtain a CPA license
- 1+ years of accounting experience.
