POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking three highly skilled and passionate linguists with expertise in transcreation and creative writing to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidates will possess a deep understanding of various audiovisual content genres, including apps, music, sports, and movie/TV descriptions. The role requires the ability to translate and localize content accurately and engagingly, ensuring cultural relevance and contextual accuracy while maintaining the original message and tone. 

Project Details:

Job Title: English into Japanese Video, Music & Sports Localization Expert
Start Date: ASAP
Location: Remote
Task Type: Translation, Copy Editing, MTPE 
Content Specialty: Audiovisual, Marketing 
Source Language: en-US 
Target Language: ja-JP 
Expected Capacity: 1000 to 2000 words per day 
Expected availability: 6 hours per day, 5 days per week (30 hours per week) 

Key Responsibilities

  • Translate and localize content related to apps, music, sports, and broader audiovisual content, ensuring cultural relevance and contextual accuracy. 
  • Adapt content to suit the linguistic and cultural nuances of the target audience while maintaining the original message and tone. 
  • Review and edit translated content for accuracy, consistency, and quality. 
  • Ensure adherence to industry-specific terminology and style guidelines. 
  • Utilize creative writing skills to enhance and adapt content for various media platforms. 
  • Ensure the transcreated content resonates with the target audience, capturing the essence and emotion of the original piece. 
  • Stay updated with the latest trends, news, and developments in apps, music, sports, and broader audiovisual content. 
  • Provide insights and expertise on relevant topics to inform content creation and strategy.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Linguistics, Translation, Journalism, or a related field. 
  • Experience in translation and localization, with a focus on audiovisual content. 
  • Demonstrable expertise in apps, music, sports, and movie/TV descriptions
  • Proficiency in English and Japanese, with exceptional written and verbal communication skills in both. 
  • Strong understanding of terminology related to apps, music, sports, and audiovisual content. 
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously. 
  • Creative writing skills to adapt and enhance content for various media platforms. 
  • Familiarity with translation software and tools. 
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
