Job Description:
We are seeking motivated, mission-focused professionals to support the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Recruit Training Center (RTC) Supply Chain Management System—an essential DoD logistics platform that ensures uniform delivery to Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard recruits. This high-impact program requires expertise in application sustainment, cybersecurity, systems administration, help desk support, and database management. Team members will help modernize and sustain critical applications like VIM, IRM, and VIM-ASAP, contributing to the secure and efficient operation of a globally distributed logistics system. Responsibilities:
The IT Support Specialist covers planning and delivery of customer support services including installation, troubleshooting, user assistance, and training. Functions may include performance of or support of diagnosing and resolving problems in response to customer reported incidents, planning and analysis of work processes, researching and reporting trends and patterns of problems, developing training materials and performing computing/information system training sessions, developing and maintaining problem tracking databases, installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining hardware and software, performing backup and recovery operations, consulting with users to identify needs and requirements, conducting feasibility studies and trade-off analyses, preparing business cases, and ensuring the rigorous application of information security/Cybersecurity policies, principles, and practices. May be required to support DLA’s eProcurement system, a segment of its SAP-based enterprise resource planning system.
Required Experience in years:
  • Six (6) years of progressive experience in the field of Information Processing
    • Three (3) of which are specialized in Information Processing and involve a range of hardware/software solutions
    • Two (2) of which are concentrated, hand-on experience in installing, diagnosing problems, and training customers in the use of software and hardware.

Preferred Experience:
 
  • Candidates with prior experience supporting the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) or other Department of Defense (DoD) logistics operations are strongly preferred.
 
  • Ideal candidates will have hands-on experience with one or more of the following systems: Virtual Item Manager (VIM), VIM-ASAP, Integrated Retail Module (IRM), and the Asset and Visibility System (AAVS). Familiarity with the end-to-end supply chain processes, inventory management, requisition processing, and vendor integration functions supported by these applications is highly desirable.
 
  • Experience working within DLA’s Enterprise Business Systems (EBS) environment and a strong understanding of military clothing distribution workflows, MILSTRIP/MILSTRAP transactions, and RFID-enabled logistics solutions will be considered a significant asset.
