About Paxos

Today’s financial infrastructure is archaic, expensive, inefficient and risky — supporting a system that leaves out more people than it lets in. So we’re rebuilding it.

We’re on a mission to open the world’s financial system to everyone by enabling the instant movement of any asset, any time, in a trustworthy way. For over a decade, we’ve built blockchain infrastructure that tokenizes, custodies, trades and settles assets for the world’s leading financial institutions, like Mastercard, Visa, Robinhood, and PayPal.

About the team

The Paxos IT Team plays a crucial role in supporting our growing global business by enabling seamless technology experiences for all employees. The team is responsible for deploying, supporting, and securing devices and applications across a hybrid environment, both in-office and remotely. As Paxos expands its workforce and services, the IT function is critical to ensuring operational excellence and security for every Paxonian.

About the role

We're looking for a highly skilled and self-motivated IT Support Engineer to join our global IT team. This role is a key player in ensuring our employees have the best possible technology experience from their first day and throughout their time with us. You'll be responsible for a range of critical functions, including employee onboarding and offboarding, inventory management, and resolving day-to-day support requests.

The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise, a proactive mindset, and a genuine passion for solving problems and helping others. You will act as a technical resource for your peers and be a driving force in improving our processes and procedures.

What you’ll do

  • Technical Support: You'll handle and prioritize a diverse range of support tickets and requests within our Jira Service Management platform, demonstrating a deep understanding of how to resolve issues efficiently and when to escalate.
  • Onboarding & Offboarding: You will own the full user lifecycle, including provisioning and de-provisioning accounts and equipment across all core systems.
  • System Administration: You'll administer our critical SaaS applications, including Google Workspace, Okta, and Slack. You'll manage user accounts, group memberships, and handle permission requests and troubleshoot access issues.
  • Endpoint Management: You will utilize Jamf, Intune and NinjaOne to manage, secure, and troubleshoot our fleet of macOS and Windows devices. You will ensure endpoints are properly enrolled and compliant with security policies. You will troubleshoot application deployment issues, run diagnostic commands, and apply patches as needed. You will also assist with the configuration and deployment of new hardware.
  • Inventory & Asset Management: You will maintain accurate and up-to-date IT inventory records, overseeing the entire asset lifecycle from procurement to disposal.
  • Process Improvement: You'll proactively identify trending issues, develop scalable solutions, and contribute to the automation of IT processes to enhance efficiency.
  • Documentation: You'll be responsible for creating, updating, and maintaining comprehensive documentation and knowledge base articles within Confluence.
  • Project Management: You will manage and execute IT projects of medium complexity, often requiring collaboration with cross-functional teams.

About you

  • With 3-5 years of relevant experience, you're an expert in managing and troubleshooting enterprise applications and hardware, and you're always looking for ways to make things better.
  • Technical Knowledge: You have advanced, hands-on experience with macOS and/or Windows operating systems. You are proficient in administering corporate applications like Google Workspace, Okta, and Slack. You have practical experience with MDM solutions like Jamf and are adept at using ticketing systems like Jira and knowledge bases like Confluence.
  • Independent Problem-Solving: You're skilled at identifying recurring technical issues and implementing solutions with minimal guidance. You don't wait to be told what to do; you proactively find ways to improve systems and processes.
  • Project Ownership: You've owned and successfully executed IT assignments of medium complexity. You can accurately estimate timelines, manage deliverables, and provide proactive updates.
  • Communication & Collaboration: You possess solid written and verbal communication skills and can distill complex technical concepts for any audience. You build strong relationships, resolve conflicts effectively, and consistently collaborate with team members and cross-functional partners to drive execution.
  • Impact-Oriented Mindset: You are focused on making a tangible impact. You are a resource for your peers and consistently raise meaningful topics of discussion in team meetings to improve practices and procedures. You exemplify professionalism, ownership, and empathy in all interactions.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
