A Day in the LifeThe IT Manager, RS&C is responsible for overseeing the planning, implementation, and maintenance of technology solutions that support Regulatory and Technical Communications processes and ensure the security, reliability, and efficiency of IT systems. This role leads a team of IT professionals, manages projects, and collaborates with stakeholders across the organization to deliver high-quality technical support and innovative solutions. The IT Manager ensures compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements, drives continuous improvement initiatives, and provides strategic guidance to align technology with business goals.
This position is an exciting opportunity to work with Medtronic's Diabetes business. Medtronic has announced its intention to separate the Diabetes division to promote future growth and innovation within the business and reallocate investments and resources across Medtronic, subject to applicable information and consultation requirements. This separation provides our team with a bold opportunity to unleash our potential, enabling us to operate with greater speed and agility. As a separate entity, we anticipate leveraging increased investments to drive meaningful innovation and enhance our impact on patient care.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

  • Provides leadership for those involved in the development, design and optimization of one or more information technology and systems functions supporting Regulatory and Technical Communications business processes and technical information systems platforms, including Component Content Management System (CCMS), Translation Management System (TMS), Project Management Tools and other technical solutions identified by the team.

  • Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, analysis, selection, modification and validation of enterprise systems, application software, installation of network hardware/software and database management.

  • Provides direction for the effort required to protect the company's data, tools and information systems.

  • Ensures infrastructure architecture standards maximize efficiency and support platform compatibility.

  • Usually requires subject matter knowledge of user group for practical application of system characteristics.

  • Coordinates delivery of services to user groups and ensures IT service is uninterrupted.

  • Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree and minimum of 5 years experience managing IT systems or processes in medical device or other highly regulated industry

OR

Advanced Degree and minimum of 3 years experience managing IT systems or processes in medical device or other highly regulated industry

Nice to Have:

  • Degree in Systems Engineering or Systems Administration

  • 10+ years experience leading IT teams that support Regulatory and Technical Communications processes

  • Previous experience in medical device industry

  • Cross functional leadership and collaboration across highly matrixed organization

  • DITA XML or XSL-FO Certification or Training

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$132,800.00 - $199,200.00

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20+ hours per week: Health, Dental and vision insurance, Health Savings Account, Healthcare Flexible Spending Account, Life insurance, Long-term disability leave, Dependent daycare spending account, Tuition assistance/reimbursement, and Simple Steps (global well-being program).

 

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to all regular employees: Incentive plans, 401(k) plan plus employer contribution and match, Short-term disability, Paid time off, Paid holidays, Employee Stock Purchase Plan, Employee Assistance Program, Non-qualified Retirement Plan Supplement (subject to IRS earning minimums), and Capital Accumulation Plan (available to Vice Presidents and above, or subject to IRS earning minimums).

 

Regular employees are those who are not temporary, such as interns.  Temporary employees are eligible for paid sick time, as required under applicable state law, and the Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Please note some of the above benefits may not apply to workers in Puerto Rico.
