Role Overview

We are looking for a highly analytical and articulate Investor Relations Manager to manage our day-to-day interactions with the investment community. As a key member of the finance team, you will act as a vital bridge between Harbinger and our stakeholders, ensuring our financial narrative, business milestones, and growth strategies are clearly communicated.

In this role, you will take ownership of the investor relations pipeline, draft critical investor communications, manage data rooms for fundraising, and track market intelligence. This is an incredible opportunity for a proactive finance professional to manage the IR function at a high-growth, hardware-focused startup.

Key Responsibilities
  • Communications & Materials: Draft and design high-quality investor materials, including quarterly update letters, board presentations, and fundraising pitch decks.
  • Investor Pipeline Management: Maintain the investor CRM, track interactions with current and prospective investors, and ensure timely follow-ups. Coordinate logistics for investor meetings, roadshows, and site visits.
  • Financial & Market Analysis: Monitor macroeconomic trends, competitor financial performance, and capital markets activity within the EV and commercial automotive sectors. Build peer benchmarking reports to share with the executive team.
  • Fundraising Execution: Support the CFO in executing future capital raises (equity and debt). Take the lead on managing the due diligence data room, organizing files, and fielding analytical requests from prospective investors.
  • Cross-Functional Alignment: Partner with FP&A, Accounting, Engineering, and PR teams to ensure external metrics align perfectly with internal reporting and that all communications are consistent and compliant.
  • Q&A Preparation: Anticipate investor questions and prepare comprehensive Q&A documents and briefing materials for the CEO and CFO ahead of major investor engagements.
Qualifications
  • Experience: 4–7 years of experience in Investor Relations, Investment Banking, Equity Research, Corporate Development, or Corporate Finance. (Experience with hardware, automotive, or deep-tech startups is a significant plus).
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint. You must be comfortable navigating financial models, understanding cap tables, and translating complex data into visually compelling presentations.
  • Communication: Flawless written and verbal communication skills. You know how to distill complex engineering and financial concepts into clear, concise business narratives.
  • Attention to Detail: Hyper-organized and capable of managing highly sensitive, confidential information with absolute discretion.
  • Adaptability: A self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, ambiguous startup environment and is willing to roll up their sleeves to get the job done.
Key Benefits & Perks:
  • Comprehensive Health, Dental & Vision (HDV) – 100% employee covered
  • Early-stage Stock Options
  • Robust Retirement Savings (401k, HSA, FSA)
  • Generous Paid Time Off (PTO) & Parental Leave

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
