Investment Analyst

M13 is an early-stage (seed and Series A) venture capital firm that invests in visionary founders building disruptive software businesses. We seek an Investment Analyst to join M13’s investment team and work from our New York, NY office. Successful candidates will bring two years of investment banking or management consulting experience and zeal for supporting a group of senior investors. They will leverage their financial analysis expertise to own the quantitative due diligence process, historical and projected financials, and underwriting of deals.

The M13 investment team focuses on early-stage technology—specifically in the future of commerce, health, money, and work- including how AI powers these sectors. We invest at the Seed and Series A stages, and we also have a crypto strategy.

What you'll be doing:

• Quantitative analysis, including company financials, cohort analysis, market sizing, LTV/CAC, and unit economics

• Building underwriting and return models

• Company, competitor, and technology research

• Crafting investment memos for internal decision-making

• Building expertise about different sectors for investment

• This role does not involve sourcing in any significant way.

What you bring to the role:

• Two years of experience working as an analyst at a top investment bank, management consulting, or private equity firm

• Exceptional financial modeling, due diligence, and underwriting skills

• You are a self-starter with world-class follow-through skills

• You have a passion for technology, entrepreneurship and startups

• You enjoy and use data and your financial prowess to influence your point of view; you are comfortable communicating; you have a strong desire to work with a group of investors to play a critical role in all deals

• Enthusiasm for financial modeling and knack for using your financial data to tell stories and influence our investment decisions

Actual compensation within this range will depend upon the candidate's skills, experience, qualifications, and level of impact in the role.
