Role Summary
American Century Investments is looking to add an Investment Analyst on our Global Growth - US team. This role will be primarily focused on mid capitalization equity securities in the U.S., with some exposure to large-caps, in the Industrials sector.
This Investment Team manages a portfolio of $6 billion in U.S. assets consisting of mostly domestic properties. The team is comprised of five and based in our Kansas City, New York, and Santa Clara offices. The group focuses on two primary strategies - Heritage and MID ETF - designed as opportunistic growth funds that seek to build capital over time by investing primarily in growing midsize companies.
This hybrid position can be based out of our Kansas City Headquarters, New York, or Santa Clara office.

How You Will Make an Impact
- Identify, research, and develop investment ideas and recommendations for the Heritage and MID portfolios
- Understand how the Industrials sector interacts with various macro forces and be able to navigate the team through economic cycles
- Seek out durable growth franchises as well as innovative companies with outstanding technologies and business models
- Internalize and implement American Century's disciplined investment process; Ability to assess business quality as measured by ROIC, project potential growth in revenue, earnings, and cash flow, and create a valuation framework using historical, comparable, and DCF to arrive at intrinsic value
- Prepare research templates and earnings models as a framework for communicating an investment thesis, maintain earnings models on companies in the portfolio, document company and industry contact meetings, proactively update the team/colleagues on meaningful news flow, buy/sell recommendations, and develop/maintain a network of contacts
What You Bring to the Team (Required)
- Minimum of 2-5 years of buy-side, fundamental research experience
- Minimum of 2-5 years of experience covering the Industrial sector globally with existing working relationships with Investor Relations and financial officers of companies in those industries; Growth orientation required
- Highly motivated, intellectually curious individual possessing a combination of strong quantitative skills and ability to consistently meet deadlines within timelines
- Work both independently and as a member of the research team with minimal direction
- Self-starter with ability to determine priorities, plan, organize, and follow-through on assignments while providing consistent top quality output
- Able to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in written form with high accuracy and attention to detail
- MBA or equivalent experience required

For New York and California based candidates, the salary for this role is $150,000 – $185,000. Actual offers are based on various factors including but not limited to a candidate’s location, skills, experience, and relevant education and/or training. This position is eligible for cash incentive providing the potential to earn more.
Employees are required to be in the office on a scheduled frequency. Adherence to this schedule is essential to fulfilling the expectations of the role.
