Position Summary -
The Safety Business Partner consults with bizhaven clients on general safety matters
and makes recommendations regarding program development, supervisor and employee training, safety
improvement, company safety culture, and best practices. Driver of Safety initiatives with clients while
creating strong business relationships and ensuring quality support. Responsible for retaining clients by
demonstrating the value of services and providing expert guidance.
Essential Responsibilities
•
Provides clients with appropriate recommendations on the administration of safety policies and
procedures.
•
Serves as internal consultant by analyzing a company’s current safety programs and
recommending solutions.
•
Develops, revises, and implements safety policies and procedures for bizhaven clients.
•
Ensures client safety programs are in compliance with established policies and procedures and
state/federal laws and regulations.
•
Prepares and maintains data related to specific safety projects.
•
Conducts audits of safety activities and programs to ensure compliance.
•
Presents training sessions related to specific safety programs, including IIPP, IDP, EAP, and Fire
Prevention Plan.
•
Maintains an assigned Book of Business, ensuring consistent, quality service for each client.
•
Assists with the development and coordination of recommended changes regarding workflow.
•
Identifies gaps in procedures and assists with creation of internal safety related SOPs.
•
Assists with updating client programs, new hire orientations, and other materials as needed.
•
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills
•
Experience in Safety Business Partner position or applicable experience.
•
High level of self-confidence with exceptional communication skills and ability to influence.
•
Advanced organizational skills and ability to successfully navigate ever-changing priorities.
•
Theoretical and practical knowledge. Sound judgment and problem-solving skills - experience
necessary to understand what solutions have worked in the past and how to improve upon past
mistakes.
•
Ability to explain ideas and concepts in a simplified manner to clients.
•
Ability to improvise - foresee and implement multiple solutions to clients.
•
Excellent listening skills - ability to carefully listen to the needs of clients as to implement safety
solutions that address specific business needs.

•
Must possess a reliable vehicle, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to obtain and maintain
auto liability/property damage insurance in compliance with bizhaven company requirements.
Education and Experience:
•
Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safey & Health or related discipline preferred.
•
5+ Years of safety experience, including safety consulting preferred.
•
Professional designation in Safety (CSP, ASP, GSP, CHST, OHST, STSC, STS, etc.) preferred.
•
Understanding of safety best practices, including up to date knowledge of OSHA, Cal/OSHA,
DOT, and other safety-related laws and regulations.
•
Microsoft Office knowledge – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
•
Specialized training in specific safety areas – Construction, General Industry, DOT, Worker’s
Compensation, etc.
Physical Requirements:
•
Ability to travel to client locations
•
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
•
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
