Position Summary
– The HR Business Partner consults with bizhaven clients on general human resources
matters and makes recommendations regarding employee relations, recruitment, training and
development, compensation, benefits, and handbooks. Driver of HR initiatives with clients while creating
strong business relationships and ensuring quality service. Responsible for retaining clients by
demonstrating value of services and providing expert guidance.
Essential Responsibilities
•Provides clients with appropriate recommendations on the administration of human
resources policies and procedures.
•Serves as internal consultant by analyzing a company’s current HR programs and recommending
solutions.
•Develops, revises, and implements HR policies and procedures for bizhaven clients.
•Ensures client HR programs are in compliance with established policies and procedures and
state/federal laws and regulations.
•Prepares and maintains data related to specific HR projects.
•Conducts audits of HR activities to ensure compliance.
•Presents training sessions related to specific HR programs, including Sexual Harassment
Prevention.
•Consults with clients on employee relations issues, including employee separation.
•Maintain an assigned Book of Business, ensuring consistent, quality service for each client.
•All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills
•Experience in HR Generalist or Business Partner position or applicable experience.
•High level of self-confidence with exceptional communication skills and ability to influence.
•Advanced organizational skills and ability to successfully navigate ever-changing priorities.
•Theoretical and practical knowledge. Sound judgment and problem-solving skills - experience
necessary to understand what solutions have worked in the past and how to improve upon
past mistakes.
•Ability to explain ideas and concepts in a simplified manner to clients.
•Ability to improvise - foresee and implement multiple solutions to clients.
•Excellent listening skills - ability to carefully listen to the needs of clients as to implement HR
solutions that address specific business needs.
•Client-focused attitude, with high level of professionalism and discretion.
•Integrity - must be able to develop a strong relationship with clients by demonstrating credibility
and building trust.
•Accountability – embracing ownership of actions and outcomes.
•Self-driven
•Must possess a reliable vehicle, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to obtain and maintain
auto liability/property damage insurance in compliance with Bizhaven company requirements.
Education and Experience
•Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management or related discipline
preferred
•5+ years in HR, including HR Consulting experience preferred
•Professional designation in Human Resources - SHRM CP and/or PHR/ SPHR preferred
•Understanding of HR best practices, including up to date knowledge of California and Federal laws
and regulations
•Microsoft Office knowledge – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
•Specialized training in employment law, compensation, organizational development and employeerelations
Physical Requirements
•Ability to travel to client locations
•Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
•Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
