The Position

At Roche, we are reimagining healthcare together. Join our QA Compliance Team in Basel Drug Substance Manufacturing and gain unique insights into the production of chemical and biological active pharmaceutical ingredients. As an intern, you will contribute to ensuring the highest quality standards in a dynamic and collaborative environment that values learning, innovation, and inclusion.

The Opportunity

In this internship, you will be part of the QA Compliance Team and support a wide range of activities with real impact on our operations:

  • Collaborate closely with the Compliance, Systems, and Training teams within QA.

  • Coordinate and exchange with fellow interns across the QA Chapter to drive joint initiatives.

  • Plan and execute your own small projects within the area of compliance.

  • Track regulatory commitments in collaboration with internal stakeholders.

  • Contribute to the preparation, conduct, and follow-up of regulatory inspections and audits.

  • Gain hands-on experience in a state-of-the-art pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
     

Who You Are

You are passionate about quality and eager to learn in a complex, regulated environment. You bring:

  • Ongoing or recently completed studies (within the past 12 months prior to the start date) in a scientific or technical field such as Pharmacy, Biotechnology, Chemistry, or Molecular Biology – applications from PhD students who have not yet defended their thesis are also warmly welcome.

  • Strong communication skills in German and English, both written and spoken.

  • A proactive mindset, strong learning agility, and a structured working style.

  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and multitask effectively.

  • Enjoyment of teamwork, collaboration, and contributing to shared success.

  • Good knowledge of Google Workspace tools (Sheets, Docs, Calendar).

  • Practical experience with LLMs such as Gemini, ChatGPT, or interactive notebooks is an advantage.

  • Internship duration: ideally 12 months, starting December 1, 2025.

  • Application documents: motivation letter and CV.

  • Note: This internship is not suitable for thesis work.

  • For applicants from outside the EU/EFTA without a residence permit: a mandatory letter from the university confirming that this is a required internship, including duration, and a valid enrollment certificate. PhD students can alternatively provide a confirmation of ongoing enrollment from their institution.
