Purpose

Summer Interns take on a wide variety of responsibilities ensuring a platform for growth and a deeper, hands-on understanding of the world of construction.  We offer internship roles in preconstruction as well as project management. 


Representative Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Solicit subcontractor bids

  • Perform quantity takeoffs

  • Administer subcontracts

  • Produce and manage the submittals process

  • Track change orders

  • Manage procurement log

  • Work on close out packages

  • Assist with schedule management

  • Learn about and support the building permit process

  • Produce meeting minutes

  • Review RFI’s

  • Assist with maintaining project document files and logs

  • Assist with maintaining a current set of drawings

  • Perform other projects and duties as assigned. 

 

Qualifications

Education:  

  • College degree in progress in construction management, architecture, engineering, and/or other technical discipline or equivalent work experience. 

     

Specialized Knowledge and Skills:

  • Ability to read plans and specs

  • Effective written and communication skills

  • Self-starter, curious mind, hungry to learn 

  • Working knowledge of company software programs, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project and Procore a plus.

  • Ability to independently organize work assignments and meet critical deadlines.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.


Work Environment 

This employee generally performs this work in an office environment and occasionally got out to the jobsite. The noise conditions are usually minimal to moderate. The employee may occasionally perform this work in an active medical care facility which may have more stringent requirements related to health and safety.

The salary range for this position is $17/hour - $28/hour.
