What You’ll Learn

    • Insight into industry’s latest protocols for storage systems

What You’ll Do

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Firmware Engineering Intern to support our Product Firmware Development team. During the summer, you will gain first-hand experience in a firmware development team, supporting testing of firmware issues and release lifecycle management.

Location: Daily onsite presence at our San Jose headquarters in alignment with our Flexible Work policy

Reports to: Sr. Manager

  • Support the implementation of firmware development workflows and release lifecycle management processes
  • Develop test cases & update a tool for actual product development
  • Triage and root cause system, driver and device interoperability issues
  • Development and debugging of firmware and software for SSD products
  • Debug, optimize & validate/test SSD firmware on embedded multi-core architectures
  • Complete other responsibilities as assigned.

What You Bring

  • Pursuing a BS or MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or software-focused Electrical Engineering
  • Familiarity with firmware development concepts and embedded systems
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Knowledge of C/C++ development for embedded systems, including storage devices and other embedded platforms is desirable
  • Knowledge or Experience with ARM or equivalent embedded multi-core microprocessor architectures & experience with JTAG/ICE debuggers & protocol analyzers is desirable
  • Scripting experience in one of Python/Perl/JavaScript is desirable

Hourly Base Pay Rate
$28$62 USD
