As the Interim Human Resources Manager for our San Marcos team, you will act as the critical bridge between business objectives and people strategies.  

We need more than a high-level planner—we are looking for an adaptable, hands-on leader who isn't afraid to roll up their sleeves and drive real results. In this role, you will quickly grasp our broader strategy, deliver sound, data-driven HR recommendations, and map out clear, actionable steps that empower our organization to reach its goals during this transition.  

Note: This is a multi-site transitional opportunity. Following the successful completion of the interim period in San Marcos, the ideal candidate must be open to relocating to support our site operations.

Leadership & Core Responsibilities

Culture Champion & Talent Leadership (Accountability)

  • Talent Strategy & Operations: Accountable for delivering exceptional service to both internal employees and external candidates. Effectively close talent gaps by attracting, retaining, and developing top-tier talent that aligns with our mission.
  • System & Policy Administration: Oversee payroll and system administration, ensuring full compliance with all organizational policies and labor regulations.
  • Workplace Culture: Be a champion of our culture while helping to build a strong, thriving organization where potential transforms into purpose.

Cross-Functional Partnering & Service (Collaboration)

  • Leadership & Vendor Alignment: Partner cross-functionally with Leadership, HR, employees, and vendors to lead by example, hold others accountable, and make data-driven decisions that positively impact employee experience.
  • Empowering Environment: Foster a collaborative and empowering environment that drives success and supports the overall mission of the organization.

Strategic Guidance & Employee Engagement (Empowerment)

  • Strategic Advising: Empowered to share insights on company strategy, tactics, and direction while advising on staffing levels, hires, terminations, and compensation structures.
  • Process & Cost Optimization: Build and maintain communication channels that enhance employee engagement while innovating to reduce costs and streamline payroll and benefits processes.
  • Continuous Improvement: Utilize feedback from surveys and employee reviews to continuously improve our workplace culture and retention strategies.

Position Requirements

Education & Technical Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of progressive HR experience, particularly in a mid-sized manufacturing environment with multi-site operations.
  • Legal Compliance: Strong understanding of employment laws and regulations, particularly those applicable in California.

Certifications & Competencies

  • Languages: Bilingual in Spanish is highly desirable.
  • Systems Proficiency: Google Enterprise (Workspace) and ADP.
  • Core Competencies: Adaptable, hands-on leadership; solutions-focused approach; ability to thrive in dynamic, fast-paced environments while maintaining high ethical standards. Excellent communication skills to foster strong relationships across all levels of the organization

Compensation, Benefits & Legal

Total Rewards & Compensation

  • Base Salary Range: Up to $129,000 DOE per year. Exact salary will be contingent upon your experience, education, skills, and any other factors considered relevant to the hiring decision.
  • Incentive Compensation: AIP target 10%.
