About the Company

General Matter is enriching uranium in America.

Our goal is to design, build, and operate the world’s lowest-cost enrichment services in the United States.

Our mission is to restore America’s ability to produce nuclear fuel—fuel that will power AI, advanced manufacturing, critical industries, and the next generation of nuclear reactors.

Ultimately, our work will help power national ambitions and enable a high-energy society.

We were incubated by Founders Fund, like Anduril and Palantir before us, and are backed by top-tier investors. Our lean, world-class team of engineers and operators is applying a first-principles approach to solving the problem of nuclear fuel production.

We are a mission-driven company with a culture of urgency, accountability, and transparency.

Help us build a high-energy society by making the cleanest, safest form of baseload energy the most affordable.

About This Role

As a Software Engineer, Enterprise Systems, you will build and own the integrations that connect our engineering, manufacturing, and business systems.

Your first project is the PLM/PDM-to-MES pipeline that moves released parts, bills of materials, and engineering data into manufacturing. You will own this integration end to end, from API and data mapping through production monitoring and troubleshooting, and then expand into integrations across our MES, WMS, QMS, and ERP systems as the company scales.

This is a hands on software engineering role. You will write production code in C#/.NET, work directly with REST APIs and enterprise platforms, and build the infrastructure needed to move data reliably across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Build, own, and operate integrations across the manufacturing and business landscape (MES, WMS, QMS, PLM/PDM, ERP, and, over time, CRM and HRIS) as the systems grow.
  • Own and extend the PLM/PDM-to-MES pipeline, including released-part master data, bills of materials, and engineering files, as the program's first integration.
  • Develop and maintain API integrations, custom services, and add-ins in C#/.NET against platform REST APIs, including notification and alerting workflows.
  • Extend and customize platforms directly through their native tools, such as server-side scripting, query languages, workflow automation, and custom objects, when out-of-the-box configuration is not enough.
  • Build production-grade monitoring, logging, retry, reconciliation, and exception handling, and keep data mappings, interface specifications, and source-to-target documentation current.
  • Enforce the controlled-versus-uncontrolled data boundary and partner with Security and IT on authentication, authorization, encryption, secrets management, and access control, with CI/CD and version control throughout.
  • Own data migration as systems move to implementation, including extraction, mapping, cleansing, validation, and cutover, and drive integration failures and data discrepancies to root cause.

Basic Qualifications

  • Experience with systems integration, software development, or enterprise or manufacturing systems engineering.
  • Hands-on experience building and supporting production integrations using REST APIs, SDKs, and custom services.
  • Strong software development experience in C#/.NET, or strong proficiency in a comparable language such as Python, Java, or C++ with the ability to work in C#/.NET.
  • Solid grasp of APIs, data mapping, and integration patterns, including authentication, error handling, retries, and reconciliation, with strong SQL and data-modeling fundamentals.
  • Experience with source control and CI/CD, such as Git and modern pipelines, and disciplined release practices.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Hands-on customization of enterprise ERP platforms using their native development tools, including application languages, built-in query languages, and workflow builders. Experience with major ERP platforms such as SAP or Oracle is a plus.
  • Extending CRM platforms through their native programming language and component-based UI framework, along with their query languages and declarative automation.
  • Automating or integrating CAD, PDM, or PLM tools through their scripting interfaces and COM or .NET APIs.
  • Integrating or administering manufacturing execution (MES), quality (QMS), or warehouse (WMS) platforms, including cloud MES REST APIs.
  • Experience with integration platforms (iPaaS) and middleware, such as MuleSoft, Boomi, or Workato, and with event-driven patterns, webhooks, and message queues.
  • Proficiency in JavaScript or TypeScript and Python alongside C#/.NET, and comfort picking up the proprietary scripting and query languages that enterprise platforms expose.
  • Familiarity with engineering data formats and transmittals, such as STEP files, drawings, and bill-of-materials structures, and with label-printing or barcode systems.
  • Experience with cloud data warehouses, such as Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, or Databricks, and migrating data across enterprise systems, including from legacy finance systems.
  • Experience in regulated industries, such as aerospace, defense, energy, medical device, automotive, or nuclear, and familiarity with governance and compliance frameworks, such as SOX, SOC 2, ISO 27001, NIST, or NQA-1.
  • Experience with cloud services, such as AWS (including GovCloud), Azure, or Google Cloud.

Additional Requirements

  • Based in Los Angeles, CA, and onsite full-time. Hybrid and remote arrangements will not be considered.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
