About the role

As the Intake, Portfolio & Automation Program Manager, you will oversee the health of Chime’s Portfolio Management program and its associated processes within the Operations and Member Experience (OMX) organization. This role blends program management with technical expertise — ensuring our intake system runs smoothly while also driving innovation through Jira, automation, and AI.

This role sits within our Internal Operations Team, which is part of OMX’s Enterprise Project Management Office function. You’ll partner closely with OMX’s cross-functional teams to streamline workflows, maintain operational discipline, and introduce technology-driven solutions that improve efficiency and scalability across the organization.

We are looking for a self-starter, change agent, and exceptional problem solver with a demonstrated track record of optimizing intake and reporting processes while scaling automation solutions across complex organizations. This role requires an experienced program manager who thrives in a fast-moving organization using efficient processes, creative ideas, technology and automation, and quick iteration to make a significant impact.

The base salary offered for this role and level of experience will begin at $103,680 and go up to $144,000. Full-time employees are also eligible for a bonus, competitive equity package, and benefits. The actual base salary offered may be higher depending on your location, skills, qualifications, and experience.

In this role, you can expect to
  • Lead intake and portfolio governance
    • Manage and optimize the process for submitting, reviewing, and approving project requests within Jira, ensuring transparency and alignment with stakeholders. 
    • Provide oversight for a portfolio of programs and projects, ensuring alignment with business priorities.
    • Maintain the portfolio as a reliable source of truth for planning, prioritization, and reporting.
    • Track and communicate reports and insights to keep leaders informed of operational health and emerging trends.
  • Drive automation and AI innovation
    • Analyze workflows to identify opportunities for automation and efficiency gains.
    • Build and optimize Jira workflows, AI bots, and other automated solutions to streamline project management.
    • Partner with teams to design solutions that reduce manual effort,accelerate delivery, and enhance the user experience.
    • Establish best practices and enable self-sustaining automation capabilities across the organization.
  • Champion continuous improvement
    • Enhance intake, portfolio, and reporting processes in collaboration with IT Engineering
    • Create and maintain clear documentation, training, and knowledge resources.
    • Gather stakeholder feedback to drive ongoing innovation in programs, tools, and automation.
To thrive in this role, you have
  • 5+ years of experience in program management, operations, or process governance.
  • Strong proficiency in Jira administration, including workflow design, configuration (workflows, issue types, permissions), custom reporting, dashboards, and JQL queries. 
  • Experience with automation tools and/or AI-driven solutions in an operational context.
  • Exceptional communication skills and proven ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships, driving cross-functional alignment from technical teams to senior leadership.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable balancing competing priorities.
  • A growth mindset and passion for improving processes through innovation.
