Insurance Rate Analyst
Position Summary
Old Republic Title is seeking an Insurance Rate Analyst to support the accurate development, maintenance, and compliance of title insurance rates and related filings. This role plays a critical part in ensuring adherence to state regulatory requirements while supporting pricing integrity, operational efficiency, and business strategy.
The ideal candidate brings a strong analytical mindset, regulatory awareness, and hands-on experience with title insurance rating, filings, or compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Rate Development and Filings Review: Developing and examining rate filings for title insurance products, to ensure compliance with state-specific rules and regulations.
Data Analysis & Modeling: Analyzing high-level system specifications, identifying trends, and creating, reviewing, and testing rating algorithms and models.
Compliance & Reporting: Ensuring accuracy in rate calculations, assessing the impact of rates on policy forms, and preparing documentation, such as justification support for rate filings, rate templates, analytical spreadsheets.
Risk Assessment: Evaluating risks involved for both the company and the policyholder, ensuring rates are fair to customers and profitable for the company.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Risk Management, Insurance, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
2–5+ years of experience in title insurance, rate analysis, regulatory filings, or insurance compliance
Familiarity with state insurance department filing processes (SERFF)
Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills
High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other data analysis tools
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working at a title insurance underwriter (strongly preferred)
Support regulatory due diligence for entry into new states
Assist in developing filing strategies, timelines, and implementation plans for new products and endorsements
Ensure operational and system readiness following DOI approval
