Great American Custom, an underwriting division of Great American Insurance Group, dedicates itself to serving client needs and delivering outstanding service. We have made a name for ourselves as a full-service underwriting organization focused on long-term client relationships and customized business solutions. We specialize in providing primary casualty products as well as umbrella and capacity excess products that meet the needs of the commercial market. Our policy holders range from small businesses to complex multi-national corporations and Fortune 1000 accounts.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities

  • Examines and processes highly complex new insurance policies, renewals, endorsements, and cancellations using various systems.
  • Enters or loads complex data into appropriate systems, conducting thorough research and resolution of data discrepancies to ensure accuracy and integrity.
  • Generates and distributes policy documents, certificates of insurance, and other related materials, ensuring alignment with organizational standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Organizes, prepares, and updates comprehensive reports. Determines and adjusts billing status as needed. Addresses premium/billing inquiries.
  • Identifies opportunities to streamline procedures, enhance efficiency, and reduce costs.
  • May have responsibility for performance and coaching of staff and may have a participatory role in decisions regarding talent selection, development, and performance management for direct reports.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Education: High School Diploma (Associate degree preferred)Experience: Generally, a minimum of 10 years of experience in insurance operations or customer service. Completion of or continuing progress toward a professional designation preferred, such as Property/Casualty Insurance license.Scope of Job/Qualifications: Expert knowledge of local, state, and federal insurance-related policies. Advanced analytical and organizational abilities with a focus on prioritization. Expert knowledge of insurance data processing systems and leverages broad understanding of the organization. As appropriate for line of business, may authorize new business, renewals, and endorsements following specific instructions or guidelines. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Provides guidance, training, and assistance to lower-level positions.  Serves as a resource for other functional areas.

$27.65 -$45.34
