Position Overview:

-Work Arrangement: Remote, Contract
-Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM CST (includes two 15-minute breaks and a one-hour lunch)

As an Inside Sales Specialist, your primary responsibility is to engage with prospective and existing customers, helping them understand our offerings and guiding them through the buying process. You’ll be handling a high volume of calls each day, connecting with customers at various stages: from first interest to post-purchase. You'll also work to retain business by supporting customers who may be considering cancellations or refunds.

This role plays a big part in both revenue growth and customer satisfaction. Your ability to confidently communicate, handle objections, and stay motivated in a fast-paced environment is key to your success.

This is a fast-paced, phone-based role that requires energy, focus, and adaptability. You’ll be part of a team that values coaching, collaboration, and performance. We work in a feedback-rich environment, and your contributions directly impact both our customers’ experience and the success of the sales team.

What You'll Do:

  • Being the first point of contact for potential and current customers—clearly explaining products, pricing, and payment options.
  • Closing sales, entering orders, and identifying opportunities for upselling and cross-selling.
  • Following up on leads, incomplete transactions, and interested customers who haven’t yet purchased.
  • Speaking with customers requesting cancellations or refunds and working to retain those sales when possible.
  • Using a value-based approach to handle objections and lead customers toward positive outcomes.
  • Maintaining a consistent daily call volume with a focus on professionalism and performance.
  • Logging all customer interactions and outcomes accurately in Salesforce.
  • Leveraging our real-time AI sales tool to support conversations and stay compliant.
  • Participating in regular coaching sessions (all calls are recorded and may be monitored live).
  • Collaborating with teammates and leadership to achieve both individual and team sales goals.
  • Supporting other team or department tasks as needed.

What You'll Need to be Successful:

  • At least one year of experience in inside sales, customer enrollment, or a similar role focused on closing sales and customer engagement.
  • Strong communication skills—confident on the phone and able to build rapport quickly.
  • A track record of meeting (or beating) sales goals in a fast-paced, high-volume setting.
  • Experience managing objections and retaining customers who are hesitant or looking to cancel.
  • Ability to identify customer needs and tailor your approach to each conversation.
  • Comfort working with tools like Salesforce, Microsoft Office, and other common platforms.
  • Strong organization and time management skills—you’ll need to juggle multiple priorities effectively.
  • Resilience and adaptability—you’re comfortable with change, feedback, and continual growth.

This description outlines the main expectations for your role, but responsibilities may evolve as business needs shift. Flexibility and a willingness to pitch in wherever needed are essential to our shared success.

Colibri Group welcomes applicants from all backgrounds and experiences, and we understand that not every candidate will meet every requirement listed in the job description. Research has shown that women and people of color may be less likely to apply to jobs unless they feel they meet every qualification, and we want to actively combat this bias in our hiring process. If you're excited about the role and believe you have the skills and experience to contribute to our team, we encourage you to apply, even if your background doesn't align perfectly with every qualification listed. We are committed to building a diverse and inclusive workplace, and we believe that diversity of perspectives and experiences is essential to our success. You may be just the right candidate for this role or another position within our organization. Don't hesitate to take the leap and apply today!

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
