DeepFin is a systematic proprietary trading firm combining deep learning, traditional quantitative research methods, and cutting-edge trading technology, to trade global markets. Founded by engineers and researchers, we build and deploy advanced trading systems that operate across global markets.
Our team is lean, highly technical, and impact-driven - every hire plays a direct role in shaping the firm’s technology, strategy, and performance. We value curiosity, precision, and collaboration, and we’re building an environment where exceptional people can do their best work at the intersection of AI and financial markets.
HFT Infrastructure, Networking, and HPC Engineer
About DeepFin Research
DeepFin Research is a proprietary high-frequency trading (HFT) firm powered by cutting-edge Deep Learning (DL) and Deep Reinforcement Learning (DRL). We've brought on teammates from Nvidia, DeepMind, CitSec, Graviton, Tower, Jump, and others, and are aggressively working across cutting edge AI research and traditional quant research methods to monetise our AI generated signals across the global financial markets.
The Role
We are looking for exceptional infrastructure/network engineers with deep experience in low-latency networking, low-latency OS tuning, and HPC to build up our research infrastructure for both quantitative and AI research from the ground up, ultimately transitioning into building a team. This is a unique opportunity to build things from nothing to something, rather than optimise specific parts.
Responsibilities
- Global HFT Ops: Manage the health and performance of colocated FPGA production servers across US, EU, and APAC markets.
- Cloud-to-Metal Migration: Architect and execute the migration of heavy compute/storage workloads from AWS to our on-premise clusters.
- Research Build-Out: Expand our AI/Research infrastructure, racking and provisioning new GPU/CPU nodes and high-performance storage.
- Hardware Management: Handle firmware, drivers, and lifecycle for FPGAs and GPUs (no Verilog/CUDA required).
- Operational Security: Own infrastructure security controls (firewalls, segmentation, patching, access) for the on-prem estate.
- Automation: Script repetitive tasks (Python/Bash) and manage configuration via Ansible/Terraform.
- Virtualization & Private Cloud: Design, operate, and optimize virtualization platforms (e.g. KVM/VMware/Proxmox/OpenStack) on bare-metal servers, including capacity planning, performance tuning, and isolation for trading and research workloads.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- 5+ years in HFT/Electronic Trading Infrastructure: You have supported live trading environments and understand market criticality.
- Linux Engineering: extensive expertise in RHEL/Ubuntu tuning, kernel, and boot processes on bare metal.
- Hardware Ops: Hands-on experience with physical servers, FPGAs, and GPUs.
- Hybrid Infrastructure: Proven ability to manage both AWS and physical Data Center environments.
- Security Mindset: Practical experience securing networks and Linux hosts.
- Virtualization & Hypervisors: Strong experience running production virtualization on physical infrastructure (KVM, VMware ESXi, Proxmox, or similar), including networking, storage backends, and performance optimization.
- Hardware & Network Ops: Hands-on experience with physical servers, FPGA deployment, and GPU clusters. Strong grasp of Layer 1/2 switching, multicast routing (PIM, IGMP), and sub-microsecond time synchronization (PTP/White Rabbit).
If you’re passionate about applying advanced technology to real-world markets and want to work alongside a focused, high-performing team, we’d love to hear from you. DeepFin offers a collaborative, research-driven environment where ideas move quickly from concept to execution and where every contribution has visible impact.
Join us in building the next generation of deep-learning-driven trading systems - shaping the future of finance through innovation, rigour, and technology.
