Job Description
As an Industrial Engineer at Universal Destinations & Experiences, you will combine field observation with advanced analytics to solve real, large-scale operational challenges across our parks and experiences. A typical day blends analytical work with time in the operation-you might evaluate capacity and labor performance using data, then partner with frontline teams to test and implement process improvements in a live environment.
You will play a key role in translating data into actionable insights that influence operational leaders and drive measurable impact across workforce management, process optimization, and overall business performance.

Key Responsibilities:
Analytics & Modeling
  • Apply industrial engineering methods such as capacity analysis, queuing theory, forecasting, and optimization to solve operational challenges
  • Develop and maintain analytical models to support labor planning, demand forecasting, and operational decision-making
  • Identify root causes of performance gaps and translate findings into actionable recommendations

Field Studies & Data Collection
  • Conduct on-site observational studies to evaluate processes, guest flow, and operational performance
  • Collect and analyze time studies, throughput data, and other operational metrics
  • Synthesize field insights with data analysis to drive practical, implementable solutions

Workforce Management
  • Support development of labor models, staffing strategies, and scheduling analytics
  • Evaluate opportunities to improve labor utilization and operational efficiency
  • Contribute to workforce management tools and planning processes

Tools, Reporting & Automation
  • Extract and analyze data using tools such as SQL, Snowflake, and Python
  • Build dashboards and reporting tools in Power BI and Excel to track KPIs and performance trends
  • Support automation efforts to streamline workflows and improve data accuracy

Stakeholder Collaboration
  • Partner with cross-functional teams and operational leaders to implement process improvements
  • Communicate insights and recommendations through clear presentations and data storytelling
  • Support development of business cases for initiatives presented to senior leadership

Qualifications
Basic Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Management Science, Decision Science, or a related field
  • 3+ years of experience in industrial engineering, operations analysis, or a related analytical role
  • Experience conducting field studies and analyzing operational data
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate data into insights
  • Proficiency in Excel and experience working with large datasets
  • Experience with data querying or programming tools such as SQL or Python
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, or a related field
  • Experience in theme parks, hospitality, entertainment, retail, or other high-volume operations
  • Familiarity with workforce management, labor planning, or forecasting methodologies
  • Experience with cloud-based data platforms such as Snowflake or Azure
  • Experience applying Lean or Six Sigma principles

Additional Requirements:
  • Hybrid: Hybrid employees will be required to work from the office a minimum of four days per week. The Company reserves the right to change in-office requirements at any time.

This position is eligible for company sponsored benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and a variety of other discounts and perks.
