Role SummaryCloudflare is seeking an Indirect Tax Analyst to join our collaborative team. This position will have a broad range of responsibilities with a primary focus on Indirect Tax (US & International - VAT, GST, Sales Tax, Use Tax and Property Tax). This Indirect Tax Analyst will report to the Director of Tax and work with other members of the tax and finance teams, collaborating with cross-functional business partners from time-to-time. The right candidate will be detail-oriented, collaborative, and motivated by finding better, smarter ways to work through automation, standardization, and AI-enabled improvements.
Role Responsibilities

• Prepare Indirect Tax compliance including the financial support information (VAT, GST, Sales Tax, Use Tax and Property Tax fillings)
• Prepare monthly tax reconciliations and associated journal entries.
• Maintain and add exemption/resale certificates and Tax ID information
• Ensure timely and accurate filings to minimize assessments and penalties by maintaining the tax calendar
• Assist on audit requests and special project needs
• Prepare and ensure the payments requests and submissions.
• Reconcile data between systems to ensure integrity and accuracy
• Research various indirect tax matters/law updates and document conclusions
• Participate in the calculation of indirect tax reserves and budgets.
• Drive the digital transformation of our tax function, identifying and executing process improvements through technology, automation, and AI

Role Requirements
Must-Have Skills

• Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
• 2+ years of significant experience at a public accounting firm and/or corporate tax department of a multinational company
• Proficient in Excel and AI technology
• Strong attention to detail with analytical and problem-solving skills
• Proactive and inquisitive
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact effectively internally as well as with external service providers

Nice-to-Have Skills

• International VAT knowledge is a plus
• Both public accounting and technology industry experience
• Experience with Oracle and AI
