Description of Work
The Immunization Provider Communications Coordinator supports the Education, Outreach, and Communications Unit of the North Carolina Immunization Branch by developing, maintaining, and disseminating communication materials that strengthen statewide immunization programs. The role promotes immunization awareness by building partnerships, collaborating with health care providers and public health staff, and engaging private and public stakeholders.Work includes producing recurring presentations, newsletters, website updates, memos, press releases, and other communications related to immunization priorities and the Vaccines for Children program. The position advances provider‑facing and public‑facing outreach efforts that increase understanding of immunization needs across the lifespan. The role reports to the Education, Outreach, and Communications Unit Manager and contributes to consistent statewide messaging for immunization programs.
Key Duties Include:
– Develop, maintain, and distribute communication materials that support provider‑facing and public‑facing immunization initiatives.
– Produce recurring presentations, newsletters, website updates, memos, and press releases related to immunization priorities and the Vaccines for Children (VFC) program.
– Maintain current knowledge of immunization program guidance, policies, and vaccine recommendations, and identify when existing communications and resources need to be updated.
– Collaborate with private and public stakeholders to ensure accurate and consistent immunization messaging.
– Support education and outreach efforts by delivering clear, audience‑appropriate communication materials.
– Enhance immunization programs through continuous maintenance and improvement of communication tools and resources.
– Assist in statewide outreach strategies that increase understanding of immunization needs across populations.
– Coordinate closely with the Unit Manager to align communication activities with statewide program priorities.
– Contribute to the visibility and effectiveness of immunization programs through consistent, high‑quality public and provider communication.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences
Salary Grade Range: $55,221.00 - $96,639.00Recruitment Range: $55,221.00 - $71,318.00

- Demonstrated experience producing clear, concise written and verbal communication that translates complex immunization and public health information into accurate, audience‑appropriate materials.
- Proven skill applying public health, immunization, vaccine delivery, and health education concepts to develop effective provider‑facing and public‑facing outreach content.
- Proficiency creating professional educational materials, graphics, and presentations using communication platforms such as Canva, PowerPoint, and similar tools.
- Strong track record reviewing work for accuracy, completeness, consistency, formatting, and quality prior to distribution.
- Documented success managing multiple priorities and deadlines, working independently, exercising sound judgment, and incorporating feedback to improve future work.

About the Immunization Branch:
The N.C. Immunization Branch is part of the Women and Children’s Health Section and promotes public health through the identification and elimination of vaccine-preventable diseases like polio, hepatitis B, measles, chickenpox, whooping cough, rubella (German measles), and mumps.
