Our eLearning company is seeking a highly knowledgeable and detail-driven HR Manager to oversee all human resources operations with a strong emphasis on regulatory compliance, ethical practices, and workforce support. Because most of our employees are educators, this role requires someone who understands the unique needs of teaching professionals while ensuring our HR practices meet all federal, state, and local employment laws.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. HR Compliance & Risk Management

- Ensure full compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, including wage and hour regulations, teacher-specific labor requirements, and remote-work policies.

- Develop, implement, and audit HR policies to maintain legal compliance and organizational consistency.

- Maintain accurate and secure employee records in accordance with regulatory standards.

- Lead internal HR compliance audits and coordinate with external auditors when necessary.

- Monitor legislative changes affecting education, remote work, and employment practices, and update policies proactively.

- Manage compliance training programs for managers and staff, including mandatory reporting, harassment prevention, and data privacy.

  1. Employee Relations & Support

- Serve as the primary HR contact for teachers, administrators, and support staff.

- Resolve employee concerns with fairness, confidentiality, and adherence to policy.

- Promote a positive, inclusive workplace culture aligned with the needs of educators and remote teams.

- Guide managers on performance management, documentation, and corrective action processes.

  1.  Talent Acquisition & Onboarding

- Oversee recruitment processes for teachers and administrative roles.

- Ensure hiring practices comply with equal employment regulations and internal standards.

- Design and deliver onboarding programs tailored to educators entering a digital teaching environment.

  1. Compensation, Benefits & HR Operations

- Administer payroll and benefits programs in compliance with legal requirements and internal policies.

- Conduct compensation reviews to ensure equity and compliance with wage laws.

- Manage HR systems and reporting to support data accuracy and compliance tracking.

  1. Training & Development

- Coordinate professional development programs for teachers and staff.

- Ensure mandatory compliance training is completed and documented.

- Support leadership development initiatives for managers and team leads.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or related field; HR certification (PHR/SPHR/SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP) preferred.
  • 5+ years of HR experience, ideally in education, eLearning, or a teacher-centric environment.
  • Strong knowledge of employment law and HR compliance best practices.
  • Experience supporting remote or hybrid teams.
  • Exceptional communication and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Ability to manage sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
