Our client is an established professional services firm with multiple Bay Area offices. Its HR function supports attorneys, business professionals, and office staff.
The role
Raydar is recruiting for this opportunity through the Paraform network. The position is with our client. Own the HR function as Human Resources Manager and serve as an advisor to leadership. You will directly supervise staff while leading benefits, employee relations, recruiting, and day-to-day HR operations.
What you'll do
- Advise leadership on workforce matters and maintain HR policies.
- Directly supervise a staff team across multiple offices.
- Manage benefits administration, vendors, and open enrollment.
- Independently administer leaves and accommodations and address employee relations.
- Lead recruiting and onboarding for business professionals and support attorney onboarding.
- Run performance review and compensation coordination processes.
- Maintain HRIS reporting and California employment compliance.
Requirements
What we're looking for
- 5 to 15 years of progressive HR experience, including direct people management.
- Experience owning an HR function in a law firm or comparable professional services environment.
- Deep California employment law knowledge and independent FMLA, CFRA, PDL, and ADA leave administration.
- Full-cycle benefits administration and non-attorney recruiting experience.
- A bachelor's degree in HR, business administration, or a related field.
- HRIS/ATS proficiency, sound judgment, and strong employee relations and performance-management skills.
Bonus points
- SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification.
- Law-firm HR leadership experience.
Benefits
Compensation and benefits
- Base salary: USD 145,000 to 175,000 per year.
- Medical, dental, vision, and life insurance, plus HSA/FSA and 401(k).
- The 401(k) employer match does not apply at this advertised salary range.
- Year-end discretionary bonus eligibility.
- A signing bonus around USD 10,000 may be considered and paid in two installments.
Location and work model
- Downtown San Jose, California, United States.
- Five days per week in the office for the first 90 days, then primarily in office with flexibility based on business needs.
- Periodic travel to San Mateo and Pleasanton offices, approximately monthly.
