We are looking for a skilled Human Resource Generalist to help run the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department including hiring and interviewing staff, administering pay, benefits, and leave, and enforcing company policies and practices.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
- Administers various human resources plans and procedures for all company personnel; assists in development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures; prepares and maintains employee handbook and policies and procedures manual.
- Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment. Develops and maintains government-mandated programs; files EEO-1 report annually; maintains other records, reports, and logs to conform to EEO regulations.
- Conducts recruitment effort for all exempt and nonexempt personnel, seasonal, and temporary employees; conducts new-employee orientations; monitors career-pathing; writes and places advertisements.
- Administers leaves of absence for Company employees, receives initial notification from employee or supervisor, obtains appropriate documentation, designates leave (e.g., FMLA/CFRA/PDL, etc.) ensures written documentation/communication with the employee regarding leave, disability and benefits information, enters leave information into FMLA Manager; tracks timeline and communicates with employee and manager as necessary.
- Handles employee relations, counseling, various disciplinary investigations, decisions and actions, outplacement counseling, and exit interviewing.
- Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings and seminars. Maintains company organization charts and employee directory.
- Handles employee motivational activities for the company, such as special events (various company holiday parties, picnics, executive retreats, etc.) with management approval.
- Responsible for the training needs of employees, supervisors, and managers.
- Other related duties as required and assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- 4+ years of relevant human resources experience preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
- Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
- Thorough knowledge of CA employment-related laws and regulations including FLSA, EEO/AA, ADA, Workers’ Compensation regulations, DFEH, EEOC, FMLA and CFRA.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
