Job Description Summary:
- The Human Resources Business Partner serves as a trusted advisor to leaders and employees by providing full cycle HR support across the organization with a focus on Manufacturing and Operations. As JenaValve continues to rapidly scale following FDA approval of its Class III medical device, this role will partner closely with business leaders to attract, develop, engage, and retain talent while ensuring HR practices support business objectives and regulatory compliance in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment.
Job Responsibilities:
HR Business Partnership
- Serve as the primary HR partner for assigned client groups, with an emphasis on Production while supporting all business functions.
- Build strong partnerships with leaders and employees by providing guidance on employee relations, performance management, coaching, policy interpretation, and organizational effectiveness.
- Partner with leaders to understand business objectives and implement HR strategies that support organizational growth and operational excellence.
- Support workforce planning, organizational changes, talent development, succession planning, and employee engagement initiatives.
- Coach managers on leadership best practices and effective people management.
Employee Relations & Performance Management
- Provide guidance on employee relations matters, including conflict resolution, investigations, corrective action, policy interpretation, and performance management.
- Conduct workplace investigations and recommend appropriate resolutions while ensuring fairness, consistency, and compliance.
- Support performance review processes, employee development planning, and talent management initiatives.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and high-performing workplace culture.
Talent Acquisition & Onboarding
- Partner with Talent Acquisition and hiring managers to support recruiting efforts for assigned client groups.
- Participate in interviews and hiring decisions to ensure selection of high-quality talent.
- Support workforce planning and staffing strategies during periods of rapid organizational growth.
- Partner with onboarding team to ensure new employees receive a positive onboarding experience and successfully integrate into the organization.
Employee Engagement & Organizational Development
- Partner with leaders to enhance employee engagement, retention, and organizational effectiveness.
- Support employee recognition, development, and culture-building initiatives.
- Analyze employee trends and recommend solutions to improve engagement and retention.
- Maintain a visible HR presence throughout the organization, particularly within Production, to build strong relationships with employees and leaders.
HR Operations & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Support HR programs including promotions, transfers, leaves of absence, accommodations, performance management, organizational changes, and policy implementation.
- Partner with Payroll, Benefits, Talent Acquisition, and other HR functions to deliver a seamless employee experience.
- Maintain confidentiality while handling sensitive employee information.
Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve HR programs, processes, and employee experience.
- Utilize workforce data and HR metrics to identify trends and provide recommendations to business leaders.
- Participate in HR projects and cross-functional initiatives that support organizational growth and commercialization.
Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 7+ years of progressive Human Resources experience.
- Experience supporting manufacturing, operations, or production environments preferred.
- Experience in medical device, biotechnology, life sciences, pharmaceutical, or other regulated industries preferred.
- Advanced working knowledge of California employment laws and HR best practices.
