Description

Come meet Datarails! We're a fast-growing (~300 employees globally) FP&A platform designed to streamline and automate data consolidation, reporting, and planning—all while letting finance teams keep using Excel. Our solution integrates with top accounting systems, ERPs, and CRMs to give finance teams a single source of truth, helping them reduce risk, drive decisions, and ensure the right data is always at their fingertips.

We’re looking for a people-oriented HRBP to join our incredible global HR team.

This is a 100% remote role with some travel for company and team offsites, and must be based in the US or Canada (Eastern time zone). Priority given to candidates in the NYC area. No sponsorship or relocation is offered for this position.

About The Role

What You'll Do
  • Own the employee life cycle (onboarding through offboarding) for your assigned department. You’ll meet every employee regularly, offer coaching to managers, and provide proactive advice and feedback.
  • Advise and collaborate with your department’s executives (team leads through C-level). Foster close knowledge of their teams and provide coaching and training where needed, always ensuring employee and business objectives are aligned.
  • Collaborate closely with our Sr. HRBP, Americas, and broader HR team on company processes for your department and annual HR processes for the company (performance reviews, salary cycles, etc).
  • Act as the face of the company and primary touchpoint for employees in your department, and represent the voice of the employees to leadership and the HR team.
  • Take on various projects related to employee experience, people operations, and company structure in close collaboration with the Chief of Staff, Americas.

Requirements
  • 2-3 years of experience in a people-facing HR function (HR generalist, employee experience, employee relations, or similar).
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to earn and keep trust at all levels. You will need to represent the company and the employees, and at all times work to align these parties.
  • Ability to thrive in an environment where every day is different, priorities are constantly shifting, and ‘organized chaos’ abounds. Ability to handle everything that arises with professionalism and discretion.
  • Preference for candidates experienced with working with multi-cultural teams with different backgrounds and across time zones in hypergrowth environments.
  • Candidates must be willing and able to meet with the team a few times a year in NYC. All candidates will be expected to attend company off-sites throughout the year.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
